Wait, am I reading this correct??? A GPU with 2560 shaders??? What gpu is this? I thought it was going to use Polaris 10 GPU with 2304 shaders... Does this mean that AMD Polaris 10 is not a fully unlocked GPU? Or is this a whole custom built GPU?

Not bad for $500

The most unimaginative name ever.
They were sitting on Scorpio, a badass name, but no. I don't get it.

I still find strange that the Rx580(or the 480) didn´t come with 40 CU they could had easily beat the 1060

This is going to end up costing 600$ or more Canadian, very few people are going to buy it, it will not become mainstream and very few games will get fully optimized for it. The best you'll have is the same performance and graphics at a higher rez 🙂 This will be true for the first two years at least.

I don't know if it has been covered, but MS plans to implement BC support for the first Xbox console. Not sure if it's XB1X only or for all versions. Digital purchases can be transferred to XB1(X). The update will come later this year.
I would love being able to play Morrowind GOTY again. With full Xbox/360 BC maybe I should get an XB1X and ditch my old X360.

Reserve 3GB for the cpu? Is thing thing a 32-bit device? That's hard to believe. Perhaps you meant reserved for the OS? I don't keep up with consoles, but that seems strange for this console. I would think rather that 12GB would be shared among the CPU and GPU as needed--depending on the application, game being run at the time, and that 32-bits would be emulated like it is in Windows x64. Sweet spot is probably 16GBs shared, though, I would think.

it's the XboneX

Considering it's running the same number of cores as a 1080 the performance is awful thanks to the low clock sleeps. The 8 core Jaguar core carry over for a CPU is a joke. Good luck running 4,K @ 60FPS without hesvy hesvy optimization due to the awful hardware. A dual core i5 could do better than the Jaguar POS.

I didn't see anything coming for it that isn't going to be available either on PC or PS4 Pro or both (both I own). So this is completely useless to me. The fact that MS and Sony are holding the power back of these upgrades ruins the IQ possibilities. If they would take the chains off of these games having to work on older systems as well, the focus could be strictly for the upgraded consoles. Making 4k a focus is rather pointless. The adoption rate of 4k tv's is still very low and the difference is negligible. I honestly don't see a big difference between 1080p and 4k with my Pro. HDR on the other hand, on/off shows much bigger differences. Especially in games like Horizon Dawn and Wipeout.
They should allow exclusive titles for these consoles. With no backward compatibility. Then these machines could really showcase graphics - even if they were @ 1080.
