I really want to move to Windows 11 actually. Does ExplorerPatcher work to disable taskbar grouping? Because that's the only thing holding me back.

but key, isn't it the same as windows 8.1 10 and 11? that is if you buy win8.1 pro or 10 pro or 11 pro you can install any system and use the same key i.e. this news is fake

Does W11 still require your mobo to have that security module thing, my pc is now 8 years old, still works fine, but when i last did that test thing it failed on that security module dohicky.

Another irrefutable proof that Microsoft loves Linux. /S

you don't need explorer patcher for this.

Registery tweak? As far i can see it's not natively supported in Windows 11. Same with the small taskbar option. Still needs a thrid party program to pull it off.

It's not, but i meant that other software do it, without risking process stability.

What's better in that case, StartAllBack or Start11?

Download Rufus, choose to download a w11 image and make a bootable USB stick ... Before the process start Rufus will ask you if you want the requirement for secure boot to be disabled and add the ability to use offline account!

Start11 feels overwhelming with its capabilities, particularly since it doesn't have previews for everything it enables, i haven't fiddled with startallback too much yet.

I'll have a look at startallback then, because all i really need is a small taskbar and ungrouping like in Windows 10.

Just built a new pc and installed Windows 11. I'm 55 and have seen just about every variant of Windows. I am not a power user by any means. I really like Windows 11. It's actually streamlined and very easy to navigate. It may not be for everyone but give it a shot.

so if i actual buy pre made pc like i been thinking cause probably cost me less i will be forced on to win11 which went backwards with there interface. then again i probably need win 11 with newer cpu? was scheduling ever fixed on win10 for that little/big cpu?

Win 11 it's a good OS and with rufus you can skip tpm and ram requirements not sure about CPU requirements tho. Early adopter here, I loved win 11 since day one and i strongly advise to upgrade even if it's just for pure curiosity, you'll keep it. Privacy? Invasive as fk but so is on win 10 you can tweak with 3rd party software this issue. Windows xp/vista/7 privacy with windows 11 feature it's a dream, forget about it unless you get the corporate edition LTSC if i recall correctly.

Start 11 and startallback with shortcuts for my computer / traditional control panel will bring you back feeling like you are on 10 ! IMHO the windows 10 start menu is the best one to date ! Remove everything from there and add only your own things !

So if Windows 10 is like 7+, then Windows 12 will be like 10+? I look forward to 12.
