I mean, if they add legacy spinners by catching in advance, I would imagine that SATA SSDs will take advantage of that as well. It's logical, imo. This whole update is a good thing, though. This means that people can actually store their games on spinners when M2 storage is limited. And older devices as well!

Testing has shown anything over PCI3 is overkill and that it helps even normal old SSDs, so you really don't need to go this high with your tech for DS.
