Competition is always great for the consumer, now we just need to wait and see if it impacts on PS5 sales across those territories.

If it has an impact, it might not matter since PS5 has been sold out all the time, even now, half a year after the world got screwed up. That means Sony has been selling less units than they could have if they had got more production capability. So, if after the price increase the supply and demand actually get closer to each other, it's no loss for Sony. If the hit on demand will be more than expected and they start to accumulate unsold units, they can just drop the price to the original level.

Scalpers are still an issue...

This^^ As long as Sony continue to sell the console like crazy, they don`t have to worry about the prices of other consoles.

Time for PS5 slim? Cuz that pos is very badly designed for repairability and head management. I've seen some repair videos on youtube and it's a dust hair magnet too. If they make a slim version and reduce the box size, shipping costs will drop massively.
