Looks like it could be a fun game, but when I consider this vs good old Sea Dogs (one of my favorite games of all time) from 10+ years ago, it doesn't look like we've come too far with regard to game development. The cartoony graphics should appeal to the Fortnite crowd. It also looks like it should be playable on a phone or tablet.

It does look like a lot of fun, especially the online side of it, almost like Star trek Bridge Crew where it is not all serious stats and rewards, but just having a good laugh but on the high seas instead of in space, fun and not taking it all too serious, could be a winner.

Sea of Thieves is a fun game. Especially the 4 man crew and sea battles. The only problem with the alpha was it's a bit repetitive. Just sailing from one island to another collecting quest chests.

What, no eye patches, bandanas and parrots? 😉 By the way, is it possible to play this game solo/co-operatively without the risk of PVP enocunters as well?
