first we need SATA VIII I guess

and how long will we be waiting for this 1000x faster/endurance and 10 denser, before it is in the hands of consumers??

Its like the game announcement blues. This **** doesn't hype, it depresses. Tfw you won't experience this technology for years and you'll most certainly have to pay out the ass for it.

I'll be keen for this when I see good performance/dollar and see it on a store page for purchase, everything sounds good on paper and in pc tech...nothing is every what it promises to be.

If this brings any sort of cost reduction per gb in the consumer market I'll be happy speeds are already decent for the average user Imo

As long as it can read 1GB/s, has 512GB in price around $100~200 and eats less than 1W under load and less than 0.1W in idle, it is perfect storage device for next 3~4 years.

IsnĀ“t this similar to Crossbar RRAM?

Well it says on there site currently working with statistic partners and the have the option if IP licensing on there site. So it's fare to assume that this is the tech behind this article.
Oh and it will be about 9 more year till we see this in real action.

This news almost gave me a boner.
This could mean revolutionary small devices. Think plug in HDMI computers which use less power, have large storage space that doubles as decently fast RAM. Mobile phones as well.
I can't wait to see what 2016 brings.

I think you guys should read the anandtech thoughts on this.
First of all Intel/Micron are already building consumer versions of this, it's like complete. They have volume shipments scheduled for next year already.
Second it isn't designed to replace NAND or DRAM. It kind of acts inbetween them. It's a good replacement for like the Cache on a HDD/SSD, as it doesn't lose data when it gets unpowered. It's not replacing DDR or SSD storage though, at least yet.
Anyway, here's the link:
