Finally some good news on the SSD front. We've been stuck in this 500GB- 2TB rut for a couple of years now. The only larger devices are either $800-$1200 consumer M.2 sticks or some server level/professional PCIe cards with "if you have to ask, you cannot afford it" pricetags. After the Micron/Intel split and Intel's numerous acquisitions in the field of stacked chips or being able to communicate between several layers NAND (like TSV) I had hoped they would make a competitive consumer offering by now but everything seems to have major teething pains at Intel lately. Anyway, happy we have a new 232-layer NAND from Micron being sampled to many manufacturers, this should help out quite a bit.
