"NVIDIA has increased the TGP to 220 W. This enhancement generally requires board partners to adopt the 12VHPWR connector, recognized for its capacity to deliver up to 300 W of continuous power output. NVIDIA also facilitates this transition by providing an adapter that converts two 8-pin PCIe connectors into a 12VHPWR connector." Search what is wrong in this statement, and could lead MAXSUN to this decision... lol It seem logical 🙂

At 300W I wouldn't worry about the 12VHPWR connector anyway, tbh.

Yep, it's why i'm glad i'm never going to need a workhorse like the 4090 to fulfill my gaming needs.

There is a gigabyte 4070 with a single 8-pin but thats a non super.

Indeed there is. I have one and I happen to love it sans the 12gb of memory which isn't an issue at the moment but I had to replace a 3090 with it. Runs quiet and cool even for being the low end Windforce model.

My 980 Ti draws 255W in full-load stress test yet it's fine with a couple 8-pins. Some even higher clocked AIB cards draw even more and they're also fine with 8-pin. Magic!

Weak, my 6950XT can draw 425w when overclocked and only uses 2x8 pins! 😱

Thats because your 6950XT is overdrawing from the pcie slot, in clear violation of the PCIE validation.

I tought the extra power was coming from the two PCI cables, because they are supposed to be capable of delivering more power than they are rated for. Not that i care too much because i only overclocked this card to see how far it can go.
