I think I remember my Matrox Mystique graphics card (think it had 2MB of memory!), but this was 1997! Didn't know this company still existed!

Back in the day I sometimes mistook Matrox for Maxtor and vice versa. Until you realize it is just rearranging characters in the name. 🤓

I'm pretty sure they designed their own chips in the past. Now that they're AMD based, what's preventing companies from going with firepro? Then again, I never understood the reason behind most of their products to begin with. Matrox is struggling. They have 0.1% share of the discrete graphics market. They either needed a major strategy change, or a bankruptcy lawyer. Nice to see they've gone for the strategy change first.
