I just feel bad for Intel now, and for personnel who have to deal with it. But hosting your documents online without protection is just asking for a trouble.

Rollercoaster mode ON And still can get (and will) worse for the next year or two. I think it's time to do 'deep cleaning' at the management of Intel.

Is still not fair to leak them, those are corporate documents, not important things that people should know about ( i do not know, for example govern miscondut or scandals ).

Well, I got bad news for you. People will do whatever they want, be it to get money by selling documents or blackmailing Intel or just for fun. That why you don't skip your security classes and pay attention when handling sensitive information.

I know that stupid people exists, just for fun or 2 days of glory. I would have asked a fair normal compensation for not doing any harm, and a public statement from intel that a security breach has been discovered, reported and fixed. A normal world, sadly people are what they are.

If the hacker was able to breach Intel so easily, I'll bet the Chinese already have all this data even before him.

I'm ready for my 4770K to be downgraded further into a Pentium 1.

Guess Intel will be doing that thorough security audit they should have been doing more often. Guess they have to learn the hard way. Going to be interesting reading when it hits the public realm.

Now, that's the moment when you wait a little and buy some Intel stock

It is that "just for fun" aspect that I find the most worrisome. Anyway, it's been like, "one step forward and three steps back" for Intel for awhile. And, I'm not taking the slightest pleasure in saying that.

Great, another price drop wave incoming, time to save up for that cheap i7 for a gaming PC 🙂

WOW..... Intel just can't "buy" a break can they. Or maybe they did this on purpose...?!?

If Intel keep messing up like this nvidia won't just be buying ARM they will buy Intel and then they can do the world a favour and kill off x86.

@Celcius if intel would have secured their crap in the first place, no one could have "fun" with it. e.g. dont take naked selfies if you dont want them on the internet. same reason i blame parents (rather than the kid) for not securing their stuff (keys) or properly raising their kid, if him/her decides to take the family car for a ride..

Too true.

True for the most part and is probably why most people dont do things like this. Some people have a screw loose no matter what conditioning they went through. There will always be nutcases.

Naw, 4, remember Intel recommended disabling HT for CPUs older than an older generation because there is no software mitigation that can deal with their shit design. After the first few 4770K downgrades I switched to an R7 2700, it was a pretty nice upgrade despite most games still being terribly threaded back then. For anyone still on something like that I definitely recommend upgrading when Zen 3 rolls around.

Oh don't you worry, after the first Zen 3 reviews show up i will make my move.
