I don't understand why these mice are so popular. They cost $120 and they look like they feel about as comfortable as sticking your hand into a high powered blender that's running. I'm sure those who own them swear they're as comfortable as a pillow, but I'll believe that after sticking my hand in a blender then concluding it's comfortable.

Does it 'take the power back'?

I have a R.A.T 5 and i prefer it over my G9x. I bought it cheap and because it looked weird and didn't expect much but now i can't go back to my G9x. This thing fits my hand perfectly.

The pictures here are of the M.O.U.S. that was announced a week ago, not the new R.A.T.M., it says MOUS right on it in the photos.

If you've never held one, how can you say something like this? I have held one, though I did return it, it was due to the weight, not comfort. They are extremely adjustable. That alone makes them more comfortable to more people than most mice.

Exactly, I can never get what the hype about these mice from Mad Catz are. They look like little bots from Transformers and that's probably why they're so popular but performance-wise, they don't seem to be doing very well. Give me a Logitech or Razer gaming mouse any day.

I'd reply to the previous person but it seems he's banned. I have used this exact model, it feels terrible regardless of how I try to adjust it. The wireless RAT mice from Mad Catz have extremely short battery lives as well.

Is the mouse 'length' adjustable?

This. Don't like the shiny look of the new R.A.T. I will stick to my current Cyborg 5.

They're kinda adjustable, however I borrowed RAT9 from a friend of mine and it felt really bad no matter how I adjusted it. He really likes that mouse and it's comfortable for him, but for me - no way. For stationary gaming rig I use non-adjustable Razer Mamba 2012 and it feels great. For lappy I have tiny Razer Orochi 2013. It's far from Mamba in terms of comfort and performance isn't as good (although it's surprisingly snappy as for Bluetooth), still hands down beats RAT when used with my hand. My brother has 2 Logitech G700 mice - one for lappy, and one for stationary PC. They're really comfortable and in case someone was interested in buying one, I didn't like his 1st G700 - it was weird, sometimes laggy, with a lot of jitter, especially when moving it slowly at high dpi, both wired and wireless. Precision-wise it didn't even stand near Mamba. The new one is still G700 (not G700s) and it feels like a completely different mouse - it's responsive, precise, and doesn't skip pixels during slow movements. Mamba still feels quicker, but G700 somehow makes you feel you have more comfort. I think it's up to user's preference as they both work superb, just feel different. Picking one or another may be like picking top-shelf headphones. They all work great, you just have to get ones you like. Back to G700 - it's heavy, but I think I could still recommend it as a gaming lappy mouse. Mamba has huge receiver which is troublesome. Nonetheless, I'd advise against buying RAT mice before trying them out. They may be great if they fit your palm, but adjustments are not everything and they don't guarantee the comfort.

I think the Razer and R.A.T mouse use the same lazer. I can tell you know that both get cursor dift under high dpi. The slightest vibration will bring cursor movement. Having my music on with the SUB booming away i cannot control them under high dpi. Now with the G700 the vibrations don't effect it even with my Sub booming. Grip and comfort wise for me the G700 wins as well. Yes i own all of these mouse.

I am gonna wade in to the argument by adding that the software for them is awful as well. I went from a Habu that worked flawlessly, did everything you wanted, software worked perfectly to a RAT 5 (At least I think that's the one I got) installed the software that came with it and it just did not work, couldn't program it, set up macros do ANY of the functions that I had bought the mouse for and the website had no help or info what so ever. They may have updated the drivers and software by now but the mouse lasted 2 days before it got replace by a Death Adder.

Your absolutely right. EVERY time I watch a movie I have to turn down the dpi otherwise every second the play panel keeps appearing which is really annoying. As for playing loud music with bass, the curser too jumps as you mentioned.

First thing I thought of too.
