Christ, the branding on this one... " R.A.T.AIR. " Some "C.L. 0.w.N" actually had to sit down on this and make a decision that this is a fantastic naming scheme for this hideous (imo) mouse. Especially space in between "A." and "T.". So l33t!

£200!!

At first I thought you were joking about those 200 pounds but... it's 200€ as well, this is hilarious. I never was a fan of Mad Catz's design but they will 100% never see my money with such pricing. I guess it's just another facette of the industry charging extra for the uninformed customer because it's labeled "gamer" somewhere on the back of the box... while essentially looking like a transformer's undeveloped twin cut from them.

Crazy really when my dark core was about 60. That mouse costs more than a decent motherboard.

I thought Mad Catz died years ago?

Still have RAT1 and 3 around.

And they make some pretty bold marketing claims... it's just a r.a.t mouse with a wireless inductive charging mouse pad.

Brand name was purchased.
On 4 January 2018, Mad Catz Global Limited (a new company headquartered in Kowloon, Hong Kong), with new ownership of previous Mad Catz trademarks, announced the return of the Mad Catz brand and the launch of a new line of products at CES 2018.[27]
Have they ever released a good looking mouse?

Design is a personal choise. Someone likes it some dont. They make a good quality mouse thats important compared to something like Razer and their crap.

The question is always, what makes a good quality mouse. It's beyond switches and buttons... I never could imagine cleaning that thing tbh, so much space where the dirt and dust just "sinks" into the mouse... but you are right, it's a personal choice after all. There's more than enough alternatives, and especially for a price of 200€ or lower

Good point, Razer make very shoddy products, but still.... there are better choices for mice that look, feel and play good! I'll stick with my G502 thankyou very much 😀

Their mice had a TON of sensor issues... not just from the webz, but also (anecdotal evidence, I know) 2 out of 2 friends that bought RAT 7, within 6-12 months one had its sensor going jittery, the other a random double clicking issue (luckily fixed with autohotkey). And they paid £80~100 at the time. Even if their QC was top notch, how many do they think they will sell at £200?

I used to have the RAT 6 back in the day... It went out in a matter of months and I had to replace it. When the replacement came in, it had issues with the scroll wheel being so hard to turn so I sold it immediately. This brand in general has lost any confidence i had for it, and the design is so flimsy. The palm rest had a minimal give everything you grab the mouse - just sub-par ! PS: I can't believe they want 200 euro for this thing !

Lol, the 903 is around 100$, weighs 110gr including battery, and also allows to be run with wireless charging.

The price includes the mousepad. Logitech has a similar solution and ends up costing similar amounts. The G903 doesn't include the mousepad and the mousepad itself costs about what the mouse does. Why are looks so important? The reason why it looks the way it does is because it's customisable and pieces are interchangeable.

never said the combo is cheaper, but the rat cant be used standalone. e.g they force you to buy both, logitech doesnt. not even talking about taking the mouse somewhere else, and/or use it without pad/cord.

Hopefully they have addressed quality issues. I purchased a RAT 7 years ago and it lasted 200 hrs before mouse button and thumbwheel issues. Replacement lasted about 250 and I wasn't a heavy gamer. Have had a Corsair mouse give zippy issues for last 3 years and a few thousand hours so far. The RAT 7 was nice with customization as I have a very large hands but can't see paying over $200 for a mouse.

Must admit, I loved my MMO7 RAT Mouse and if they released another with the same button configuration I would buy another, but £200 for this? nah, i'll stick with my £35 Roccat Kone Aimo thanks 🙂

Reading your comments, it seem the durability of these devices is lower due to the many adjustable moving parts.
