They are high quality.
I have no idea why you think that. I've had plenty of Mad Catz gear throughout the years and every time I've ever opened up one of their ridiculously overpriced items the first thing I always thought to myself is that they look like dollar store items. They cost a lot, they look cheap, they feel cheap. No surprise that every single one easily fell apart pretty much confirming their quality was as cheap as they looked. Ever opened up any one of their peripherals? They're made of Chinese sweat shop dog crap. The quality couldn't possibly be lower. Before anyone asks why would I buy from them then, there's several reasons. Several times it was niche peripherals so there weren't other options available at the time. Other times they seemed good according to reviews or there were sales, etc. In fact, "No other options" is pretty much the only thing that would get me to buy from them these days and that's only if the item is on sale as their base prices are ludicrous. I do want to note that this is still a terrible bit of news. Even though I'm thoroughly dissatisfied with the quality of any Mad Catz item I've ever owned, to this day there still aren't many companies that cover the niches Mad Catz does so I hope their company does well. That and when it comes to the console peripheral market, other companies don't produce much higher quality stuff, they're unbelievably low quality.

suffer by competition.. Corsair Logitech still in top i think,,have good product&friendly price(price match with product quality)..now ASUS Gigabyte MSI G-SKILL is entering this market line to,PC Gaming is more huge market & always growing sales every year than a console game

I wonder how true are those " high price low quality " comments. I have a Rat 7 Contagion, 3 years and still going strong. Thinking of getting an MMO 7, if i can find a retailer that carries it in Malaysia.

As true as a box of dead controllers which didn't last a year with Mad Catz written on them. I wonder how true the comment of someone who registered to praise Mad Catz is?

Well, ever since Logitech's G5 ceased to exist I'm in a bind when it comes to replacing peripherals - especially given the new 'for gamer' price hikes. Mad Catz in particular I found not only aesthetically displeasing but also overpriced. Then again this goes for about any 'gaming peripheral' provider may it be Logitech, Razer and/or others these days. I liked my mouse being straight to the point and functional - much like my keyboards. Replacing the latter was enough of a pain as everything seems to be all glowy and tacked up with LEDs these days.

The first thing Razer, Mad Catz or what ever fanboy tells you is that how many good devices they have had over the years. Well I still have my G5 in perfect condition and cant even remember how old it is. Close to 10 years? When a device is great and works, you don't tell others how many you have bought. You tell them how old it is.

They are high quality, at least those I picked. Even old "saitek cyborg 3d usb gold" is in perfect condition. After 14 years, and yet you can find reviews of people who "broke" it in few weeks after purchase. But it is hard to find those great gamepads and joystick today. And line-up there is, is not very attractive or wise to get. But they are not low quality.
my friend, their old gear was solid. thats how they built their name. back when saitek actually sold the cyborg 3d gold (i still have one in my closet, works great to this day) in stores, madcatz had good products at decent prices. not anymore...theyve been overcharging for glitzy crap for years now, & theyre finally showing signs of stumbling becos of it

I've exclusively used Logitech for nearly 20 years. I used to replace mice every 3-4 years, now I replace them every year and keyboards every other. Why? 2 reasons, I game alot and I'm hard on equipment and Logitech's quality has gone down. I always buy their high end cordless rechargeable mouse and this most recent one, the G700 they replaced 3 times. I started with a G700 which they replaced because the index button stopped working They replaced the first replacement because the G5 stopped working. They replaced the 2nd replacement because the scroll wheel stopped clicking. The final replacement they sent was a G700s because they didn't have any G700's in stock. It's the same mouse but with nifty paint and an "S" on it's so you know its "rad".

I've gone ham on my MX518 for 10 years now and it still hasn't given me a single second of trouble. I've been playing Dota games (HoN, now Dota 2) since 2009 aswell so it's not like I'm going easy on the thing.

Its age is the reason it's still working, back then they made good stuff.
