Let's hope that Logitech keeps the Saitek products. Some of them are unique. I have a X52 (the one in the center picture) and happy with that product. Saitek used to be part of MadCatz. That company co-produced Rock Band 4 with Harmonix. After the game flopped MadCatz got stuck with a huge number of controllers for the game. They first had to lay off 37 people. Now it seems they've sold Saitek to Logitech for $13 million in cash. During the time Saitek was owned by MadCatz it remained fairly independent. Let's hope Logitech doesn't destroy the brand by forcing it into mainly producing VR gear.

I've used Saitek for years. I thought the quality of their products took a hit when they aligned with MadCatz. High hopes Logitech will improve Saitek, though. I've used Logitech for 20+ years and have rarely been disappointed.

I really like Logitech products. Saitek had a deal with Star Citizen to make 2 HOTAS for Star Citizen, one high-end and one more affordable. Wonder what will happen to this deal. This is big news in Star Citizen community.

this is good news. why ? because not only me but a simple google search will show u that siatek has poor material quality , product life cycle, and driver support. and a pointless customer service. how on earth u still don't support one of ur most important product like flight yoke doesn't support w10? it was 4 months ago i gave my hope. on emaisl they kept saying we r on it. fools. 2016 and u still didn't catch it. anyway my saite x52 is DEAD too. how? just staying in attic. yes. in a box. and ,t dead itself there. it was perfectly working. then one day i took it to make it work. and nope. nothing. tried on different pc. still dead. clap clap clap. bravo. Logitec will put good stuff aim sure.

i had the Saitek x52 flight stick that i used in FSX , and the build quality was not the best for the price , now the throttle no longer works Let's Hope that logitech releases or re-vamps the full range of flight gear ,backed by logitech support is a winner in my books .

I still have a Saitek X36 set from years ago. I really like it. I originally bought it used. The one I bought had the joystick port hookup. It was giving me problems so I contacted Saitek and they said it was because of a compatibility issue with newer computers. They told me to send it in and they would send me the updated USB version. That is some good customer service.. especially since I never even had an official warranty on it. IMO it is of a better build quality than the x45 and X52. I sure hope Logitech makes Saitek even better.

Well, i have, as many have got an X52 and one more advanced. Hotas are not cheap, and Saitek was nearly the only available under the 500$ ( as the A10C one ), if not perfect on quality build, had at least everything needed. Now you can find X52 for reallly cheap as finallly they are out since years. ( from shop, not second hand )... ofc we are far of the high end hotas, full metal and who are basically reporoduction of real one. but well.. Its clear Saitek drivers have allways been a nightmares, hopefully they was alternative ones .. On this logitech can do great things.. As their mice and keyboards drivers are excellent.

Logitech never was any innovator in the joystick business. Perhaps this will help with that. I'm happy I got the last SideWinder Precision 2 in town when MS decided to leave the joystick business, great many years ago. Unsurprisingly that joystick has worked in every Windows version just by plugging it in.

I like Logitech mice. For my heavy handedness, their mice seems to last the longest. However, their camera drivers were a bit buggy back in the day. Let's hope this helps push both companies to do better.

In a press release Logitech has announced it is acquiring Saitek, which in the end is a sub-division from Mad Catz these days. Logitech is paying 13 million dollars for this deal. By purchasing this c...

Honestly, i think Logitech is just acquiring a market where they have never really got any products, but its a niche market all in all, not everyone will be buy high priced simulation Hotas. and simulation games are still a niche market for gaming. ( i have and still play many flight simulators, specifically DCS ones ). The good thing, is peoples in this market are generally ready to put a tons of money for devices. ( i have to see guys on DCS forum, who reproduct the cockpit of an A10C Warthdog, with Ipad as,TAD, target acquistion screens. ( let alone hotas around 1000$.. ) 13millions dollars today is really a "cheap" investment for buy a company. patent or not patent.

I couldn't tell you how long ago this was, but I'd shipped my X36F/X35T to them under warrantty, and got … Well, I never did check the numbers, but it did work again. The problem latter became software support: Win7 sort'a saw the fool thing, butt the config software ether didn't work, or wanted you to buy something new … which didn't have the rocker switch on the throttle, used for steering Battlemechs. What will driver support look like going forward? :3eyes:

Patients or parents? 😉 Mad Catz (founded in 1989) was bought by the GTR Group in 2000. A year later the GTR group closed its other business units and changed its name to Mad Catz Interactive to concentrate on the Mad Catz brand. So, GTR ceased to exists and became Mad Catz.

Yes but they are in totally different price points. I have/had an X52 that is 10yrs old I still working perfectly now lives with a buddy in the UK. I have an X52 Pro for well over 5yrs now still flawless. Now the Madcatz era is embarrassing like most Madcatz stuff quality went downhill badly.Running their name into the ground I was so happy to hear Logitech acquired them they will be able to go back to making quality stuff again and I HOPE they let Logitech do the software because Saitek does TERRIBLE software...
