Nah, it's the king of 720p. There is a point.
data/avatar/default/avatar14.webp
Sure as long as it's like $50 bucks otherwise still pointless.

More than likely targeted at mainstream esports builds at 1080p.

would have been fantastic 5 year ago then.

Probably, depending on game. Weak games like League of legends it would be really enjoyable, but it will not be powerful enough to play DoTA 2 ultra settings more than 60 fps @1080p. 🙂 I bet it will be a proper gpu for OEM pre-built setups.

Excellent card to pair with those new CPUs reviews use 720p settings with.

I say this as a longtime Nvidia owner / fan: Nvidia has so many products within a few % performance of one another, it is getting absurd. In previous generations there were clearly defined segments of low / mid / high-end GPUs. Now there is a card for every possible dollar amount. Choice for consumers is a good thing, but not when you have overlapping product lines that confuse your customers. 1050 / 1050 ti, 1060 3gb / 1060 6gb, 1650 ti, 1660, 1660 ti, 2060, 2060 super (1050/1060 cards can still be found in some stores and sit alongside the shelf with all these other cards). Even worse when you consider the 1660 ti laptop cards are faster than the 2060 laptop model. Nvidia have made a mess of their low-mid range offerings.

I certainly agree with this. "The GeForce GTX 1650 Ti would cost roughly 150 USD." I accept the fact that HH is simply passing along what the Asian website is reporting. However, I don't know what could take place between now and October 22nd that would facilitate this product being able to slide in at that price when the 1650 non-Ti version and the 1050Ti are both selling for $150 ~ $180 USD here in the United States, and the plain-Jane 1050 isn't all that much cheaper. It still seems like this would be competing at least as much with nVidia's own product stack as against it's obvious opponent, the RX 570.

The whole 16xx series cards are already priced too high to make any sense currently the 1650 non ti is already selling over 150$ US in canada. AMD currently has way better options in that price segment only problem is they require power connectors which is a non issue as long as you're not upgrading an OEM computer.

Who has a 720p monitor? Who plays at 720 on a higher res monitor? Even if anyone did, if someone is on a tight budget they're not buying this thing, it makes no sense.

Smaller office monitors or small HDTVs. You would be surprised how many users are just HD. Nothing more.

Yeah this could be a 1080p card for some titles while a 720p card for most. Makes me glad that I passed up on a 1650 and went for a 1660 instead as an upgrade for my 1050.

It depends on the make and model of the OEM PC. I am running a Dell Precision t5500 workstation PC as a simulator/Emulation rig and it has an over 800W 80 Silver PSU in it which has 6 pin PCI-E power connectors inside which used an 6 to 8 pin adapter for and the Machine is running just fine with the 1660 in it. So you can put a graphics card that requires additional PCI-E power in an OEM PC. Another issue with OEM PCs is that some GPUS are way too big to fit into some of those PCs. Yeah very true that AMD has the best bang for the buck cards.

Yes some OEM PC's have the connector for it but its very rare in my experience max i"ve seen is around 400-450w.

I miss the good old days where we would get double the performance evey year. Now its just a trickle . Hopefully AMD does something with the upcoming 5600 cards.

As long as there are goyim, hordes of silly minded - bad consumers, who pay more for less every year passed, it ain't gonna happen ever again in human history. Those times are finished. Everyone buys whatever he can for years now, not what he should. I am interested too, to see where 5600 series are gonna land. We desperately need some new tech from 150~300$.

Intel became not-so-intelligent as of lately. What used to be NVidia turned into nvidi*ts... Titanium?! Rather 1650 Tp (Toilet Paper version)...

I mostly agree with you, but there is a HUGE gap between the 1050 and the 1050 Ti: about 22%.
