Man, and to think, a few years ago I spent roughly €600 for a monitor with almost identical specs from LG. Still use it, it's amazing. Nice to see the price has come down by half, makes the entry barrier for these monitors more accessible. I can't wait to see similar improvements in the OLED segment and I make my jump.

I can't believe 1000:1 (or even lower) panels are still being used in enthusiast products in 2023. This dated LCD tech should only be used for ATM screens and ticket machines at this point.

You've been out of the loop I suppose. Budget IPS monitors nowadays cost 100-150 USD.

Yeah I got about 2 years ago an IPS Philips 27'' 1080p for 114 euros , witch it was meant for the start to be a secondary monitor on the side throw on non priority stuff that I might look for a second or just YouTube background noise when I do something else on my main monitor .... So color accuracy or high Hz was not even a concern of mine ..... But dear lord the colors on it are bellow mediocre and the blue especially is bellow trash literally when that monitor displays blue ..... You can see the ridges ! In the end 100-150 euros are low end tier the screens they just show things . I would say 250-400 is the mid tier monitors 400-600 high -mid and above 600 high tier ones ..... Obviously there are always monitors that would punch above their class .... Or bellow
