so slapping a different back cover/stand on it allows them to charge almost double over their tv. and still useless if its coming with ABL.

Looked good until I saw the terrible nit specs--330/480 is very poor, imo, for a monitor in this price range, imo. If you ever use a monitor with ~700 nits SDR and up to 1000nits HDR VESA display certified, nothing else will ever look quite the same afterwards...;) Also, I agree that 43" is an ideal desktop size--at ~3 feet from the screen it fills 90% + of my visual field!...;) My worries that it might be too big were in vain, I was glad to discover.

I was gonna say, make one with a higher refresh rate, as 138Hz is quite low, but then I saw it was a 4K screen, so not so bad then as it's hard to push huge fps on 4K unless you sacrifice settings a lot. 240Hz OLED's would be real nice, and also if higher refresh rate too, but we should probably be talking 1080p and 1440p for those. (Yeah, and make the screen smaller).

I played one game on tv sized "monitor", and it was Forza Horizon in 4k. 34" ultrawide is my perfect size. Bigger than that, I have to sit further away from the monitor. So bigger make no sense for me ๐Ÿ™‚

I played with 34" ultrawide for 5 years and didn't enjoy 21:9 all that much, much happier with 48" OLED CX ๐Ÿ˜€, 42" would be perfect.

1st and foremost - light output on an OLED is entirely different than any other tech, excepting mini-led - this is because there is pure signal with zero noise. backlit monitors provide equal amounts of noise to go with the signal. this is immediately apparent on ANY differing sets even if you don't have the vocabulary 2nd - because of #1, all brightness specs are misleading as marketing loves numbers, the more arcane the better (confession: i was in marketing {market analysis} for a major CE brand) 3rd - the important factor is not the brightness of the set, but the brightness of the room in choosing your monitor or set. in an average room 400(ish) nits is more than fine. 4th - there is a difference between realistic brightness and artificial eye-searing brightness. too bright of a set for your room will inevitably lead to eye fatigue. ANY display above 600 nits is for bright to very bright rooms and in those settings, Eye Fatigue is not an issue as your pupils don't have to narrow and dilate over and over again.

it is simply amazing. my next door neighbor had it on pre-order from C.E.S. i've played about 3 hours (total, but not at 1 time) on it. my reaction to it was the very same as my reaction to a 40" plasma in 1994 i'm waiting for Samsung's shoe to drop, but if there's anything i don't like (incl price) i'm buying that too.
