Finally OLEDs are getting smaller size monitors but 60HZ is bad and the price is also very bad. Also why on earth are they still releasing new monitor lines but not including the latest HDMI standard. I get it's not needed on this monitor as it's only 60HZ but come on use the latest tech ffs.

yeah, 120hz and better price and I'll "convert"

You're one of those people where if they used 2.1 you'd whine why use 2.1 when its only 60hz.

I'm fine with 60Hz, just not the price. I think i'm gonna hold out until MicroLED, but fear that's 10 years away from a monitor.

seeing as this is a pro monitor I chanegd my comment but... wouldn't oled burn be more of a problem for a graphics pro ? also don't they use bigger screens than this ? or would this be just one of the monitors ? I'd still buy one of the tvs frankly mine with tweaked settings still look better than anything I have ever seen..stupid HDR or not I hate HDR I just watched malignant yesterday and as usual HDR is garbage, no sky is ever a cold white 1mio lumen led ramp in your face, 9/10 HDR makes things look like someone just messed up with the contrast, super fake 🙄 the lack of hdmi 2.1 makes me think those are gaming monitor prototypes or rejects I wouldn't be surprised if they were a "limited run"

I dont understand one thing in pricing here. If 48" OLED TV costs $1400, why on earth 27" OLED monitor costs double.
Because the TV panels are made in masses while these are not. Also a TV usually come with more input lag compared to monitor's.

Density often makes things more difficult not less. As @GlennB said the scale is smaller on these. Calibration requirements means some panels will be discarded. Color space requirements. Plus they are targeting professional environments so they know in most cases businesses will be buying these which allows them to increase margins. Etc.

Because of the color space. The TV panels do not cover 99% dci p3(they're usually around 93), and they're nowhere near full Adobe RGB coverage(usually around 75%). If theoretically you wanna color-grade for billboards and something that needs really high-quality printing you willl need full adobe rgb coverage in order to grade for them. On top of everything this monitor has the color profiles built in, you don't need to recalibrate every single time you need to switch the color space, whilst an oled TV.. you either get perfect sRGB or switch to hdr which enables the DCI-P3 space used for film.

Its very likely they have to cut the panel from the same size substrate as a 48" or 55" TV. Then low volumes etc.

Erm no i'm not. Plus i ain't whining at all so why even say that? A brand new 4K OLED monitor but no HDMI 2.1 is no skin off my back and probably means these are older panels that have just been cut down to size.

Lol these professional monitor/device threads are always filled with people who like can't comprehend someone needing different requirements than them.

It's all and always about gaming here sadly. ^^

Hm Idea of JOLED was to deliver consumer (price) friendly screens en masse, as IT SHOULD BE CHEAPER than traditional screens used in LG TVs.... Yet we see 3k price tag, and to boot, 60hz only. WTF? Im getting more and more inclined to just buy 48 cx or c1 as gaming monitor, screw it to the wall and that's it. And if it will have burn in...feck, I can buy another in 2-3years, as now I see them in ~1400E price tag. Base line (60Hz A1) TV is for 979e here...

It is BS because we had OLED in a keyboard with each key having its own tiny OLED screen in mid 2000s. It was called Optimus Maxmus or something. You would think a decade and a half later the tech wouldve come down in price. This price is ridiculous.

if they just cut a CX48 in half, remove all smart crap, sell as ultrawide monitors, same price even, the "high end" monitor market would be gone overnight
data/avatar/default/avatar10.webp
Nobody wants ultrawide monitors as they dont make much sense. Its a dying market.
