High-speed PCIe Gen3x4 interface: 3300MB/s read and 3000MB/s write1– NVMe 1.4 supported that's mediocre now most content creators and gamers are moving to Gen4x4 and well this looks like it's DRam less aswell so there's another no thanks would really have hurt their bottom line that much to stick a 1GB dram module on there

I very much doubt that. For gaming, there is little difference even between a SATA SSD and a "slow" 2GB/s NVME. Don't know anything about content creators, but gamers certainly do not need PCIe 4. HDD vs 560MB/s SATA SSD (860 Evo) vs 3GB/s NVME (970 Evo): [youtube=V3AMz-xZ2VM] It is very hard to imagine gaming benefiting in any way whatsoever from going from gen 3 to gen 4 NVME, when it hardly makes any difference when going from SATA SSD to NVME.
