Ah okay, I was confused by this paragraph on page 19:
Above the temperatures reported back from the sensors This is with the heatsink installed. Below is a thermal image with the SSD writing at max perf. It looks blurry, but that is the graphene sticker (which actually does work).

Honestly, I know it's max perf, which I probably will never reach in my usage scenario, but then again I'd still personally prefer components that don't dump a lot of heat inside my case for being a hard drive... Still a great detailed review like always HH & team!

Indeed. Im especially carefull since i watched jaytwocents video about kingston fury rgb where the ssd throttled due heat.

It's on the high side, (but based on that graphene sticker cooling as we test as the product is delivered). The product hardly throttles really, you can see that in the linear write test.Once housed under a mobo heatsink, this is a non issue.

Thanks for clarification! Since I have still no experience with M2 SSDs on the mainboard, this is somewhat comforting to know.

@fantaskarsef is not as tragic even for the case , if you wish you can stick a heatsink and lower it a lot but still the amount of heat dumped in your case will be identical as far the ssd uses the same wattage to operate if it operates at 50 c or 76 the waste heat energy it will put out is the same what changes is how much you spread it . There are no magic either an ssd using 10 watts full tilt dicipates less heat than a 1050ti sitting idle ! Is just that a tiny controller gets hot . I would never worry about how much heat a single ssd dumps in my case , i would only worry if it throttles .

Hey guys, i've noticed in the Crystaldiskmark benchmarks half the photos under the Random 4K Q32 are T16 and the others T1..so not comparable at that and it's not stated anywhere obviously for the average reader

Pretty nice. Going forward I wish we would see improvements in random IO and not just sequential speeds. I say that because sequential speeds are already so fast most use cases the consumer has will never notice however getting that 80 MB/s ish up to a few hundred MB\s would be felt.

my cpu dont even get that hot and even if it did I would add more cooling to my case. Seriously thought storage is pushing cpu/cpu temps now. not path i like to see continue, they need to get the heat in check. I do like idea of no more cables use for storage, but not at huge price premium I still think sata SSD are to expensive per gb and nvme is worse they also have or all that extra heat.

Great contender for the nvme crown, I am surprised they did not price them a little lower though, CCL have the 2tb model at a rrp of £645 reduced to £355, but compared to my Corsair pro xt 2tb which cost me £370 from scan is currently selling for £320....and thats with an effective heatsink, my pro xt 2tb currently at 47% full still reaches 7341/6848 in diskmark, never the less....this still looks good, considering most mid range boards these days come with at least 1 heat spreader it would be worth a serios consideration for someone looking for a high-end storage solution for there gaming rig.
