So this will be the next step in storage upgrade, after the SATA III SSDs 🙂

you can already get the M2, price are lowering each month and the M2 port is present on more and more MoBo. 🙂 For the OS it is honey (with almond and nuts 😉 )

Seriously tho, that is rather insane speeds. Going from mechanical to SSD was great, wonder what the impact is in real world applications tho.

Not so much indeed, not as jumping from HDD to SSD, but enough to be addicted (as it is so few buck compared to slower Sata SSD).

Cool so its a expansion card with extra m2 for mobos that dont have m2 or just want full m2 ultra speeds 🙂 I was wondering though is that pcie 4x card only for Kingston m2 ssd sticks? Would be great if its compatible with any m2 ultra ssd

It should work with any M2 stick. But you can buy a pcie adapter for them now.

Right, I've completely forgot about this option, thanks. 🙂 Found both pcie m2 and 2.5" sata m2 adapters 🤓

This upgrade will need to wait until Broadwell comes out, as I am currently satisfied with a SATA III SSD 🙂
