My Friend,
Its always wise to check Ubisoft games on your friends PC, before you purchase it.
FarCry 3
Assassins Creed
Watch Dogs (upcoming)
All have the same repetitive soulless game-play. What you see in the trailers or dev docs, is all that is there is to the game..they just repeat the same instances multiple times to give the impression of an expansive game.

No raised and immersive boat channels to gently drive your boat down
No in game hand help map that doesn't take you completely out of the game
No diamond hunting
No sense of truly dense jungle you could explore
No safe houses to unlock
No ability to swap time of day on the fly to take on missions in the time of day that best suits you
No way you could mend damaged vehicles without taking up an entire inventory slot to do so
No beautiful sunsets / sunrises
No sense of atmosphere (FarCry 2's atmosphere was thick and lovely)
No memorable music (FarCry 2's music 100% added to the heavy african vibe of the game and was often stunning)
No need to have every bloody object on the map highlighted for you to collect before you've even found them. FarCry 2 awarded your compulsive and even obsessive exploration with suitcase diamonds you could spend
No level of graphical detail we were promised in the E3 stage demo they presented
I'd give FarCry 3 a 6 at best and still strongly believe FarCry 2 is the far better game.

-Static environment
(Exploration was dull/uninspiring)
-Quick Time Event Sequence
(Game breaking)
-Gimmicky game mechanics
(Crafting: it tries to force exploration, but it was repetitive & mostly pointless)
-Poor storyline
(It was predictable and none of the characters were likable other than Vaas
which you kill early in the game in some acid induced QTES
-Poor multiplayer
(Generic and suffered a lot of issues, the last time I checked it was dead.)
Rating: 4/10
Before the performance issues were resolved I had long beat the game and had enough of it. I thought it really had some potential, but it fell short even for my low expectations.
I know quite a lot of people love this game though 😉

This user's review - lame, boring, riding on the far cry name. Bigtime disappointment.

Far Cry 3 is an example of a game that had high potential, but was let down by technical limitations brought on by the consoles.
I've complained about this on other forums. The Far Cry 3 engine is designed for the low memory resources of the consoles at the most fundamental levels, and as such, tries it's hardest to lower memory utilization.
That's why texture pop in is such a huge problem in the game. Even on the highest settings, the RAM usage doesn't exceed 700mb; at least on my computer.
Now, for an open World game, that is just wrong. How can a massive game like Far Cry 3, use less than 700mb of system memory?

FC3 was meh, i completed and forgot about it. Didnt do any side missions apart from few early in the game ones. Didnt feel the need. Atmosphere was bad, FC2 feels so much better in this area. i would give it 6/10 max.
