Hey, hey now! Firefox is by far the most sluggish browser in actual use these days and scrolling is generally far from smooth (the verge for example is pain to use with firefox).

IE11 is horrendous, you have to add Google to list of compatibility sites if you want Google Images to work properly
Don't see how they can promote it being good if you can't use it natively

If you make a site that detects specific browser and in such case presents content that isn't rendered in a way that the user expects it, it's difficult to blame the browser vendor.
While IE hasn't got the best opinion by looking at IE5.5 and IE6-related compatibility issues, the newer versions are significantly better. I use Chrome as my primary browser, and IE and Firefox from time to time. It wasn't a difficult choice for me as (at least on my machines) Chrome and IE have speed, Chrome and Firefox have addons, so that makes Chrome the only good option with both speed and addons. But I can fully understand people using IE as their primary browser. There's nothing to be ashamed of.

This has nothing to do with being ashamed of using IE, its pure and simple that it is the inferior browser compared to Chrome and FF in all senses

Its a nightmare to develop for IE when the same site works differently in IE 6, 7, 8 and 9 and then flat out doesn't work without compatibility mode on IE10 when chrome and Firefox works fine. You think developer likes to add browser detection code and routine to the site?

Until this bold statement from m$oft...
we all knew that IE is a perfect browser for...downloading installations of FFox or/and Chrome.
Now we know that it is not the end of story, by far - IE is capable of downloading JPG photos... And it does it FAST! Whoa! Is IE capable of downloading GIF photos too? How about .txt files? What a relief, what a mighty browser...

I haven't had any issues with IE11 when testing, though the fact I didn't know about the Google images thing means I haven't done that much testing.
Netflix in HTML5 works very well though, and is the only way to get 1080p in a browser as far as I know.
Certainly rate it above Firefox though, as that has been junk for far too long now.

Yeah, I don't know what Mozilla is up to. It is the default Tor Browser and it's sluggish as always.

I just don't get why MS only supports the latest IE on the two most recent Windows versions. They purposefully limit the market share for IE by doing that.
At the very least, Vista should be able to get anything that Windows 7 gets.

Vista is >5 years old, and MS full support is usually in the first 5 years after release. Nonetheless the latest Service Pack was from 2009, so it should be supported. Moreover, Vista supports the most of API's and also the latest .Net Framework 4.5.1. I don't really get this decision, and maybe, maybe they'll add support for Vista too. If you find a discount comparable to one from the last year, I'd recommend switching to Win 8 / 8.1.
