Yep....took a lot of engineering to look at the Noctua NH-L12S and think "maybe it would do better with another fin array placed under the bottom fan with 2 extra heatpipes".... Because, that's exactly what it looks like they did.

Wait... is there no any solid connection between bottom and top metal heatsink?? I don't think top heatsink conducts temperature from bottom heatsink. Its just seem to be heated up by hot air from bottom. What the purpose of top heatsink? edit: nvm it's on back... http://www.guru3d.com/index.php?ct=news&action=thumb&id=25393
