Kinda strange to me how Intel went from years of barely able to get 10nm to work, to suddenly pushing their chips to clock speeds from the factory that overclockers could never achieve without LN2. While it's good they've found some epiphany to perfect their node, I'm still not fond of them reliving their Pentium 4 days and just pushing stupid clock speeds with high power draw.

Between Intel, AMD and nvidia, all pushing power usage higher, it might be good to invest in stock of companies that sell energy.

And the name will be....i9-19590

At that rate, it should bundle the new PSU, CPU cooler and electric bill as well...

I'm torn. 6ghz out of the box would be awesome to see in benchmarks and monitoring software. On the other hand, running eco-mode on recent Ryzen parts has spoiled me with the "have-your-cake-and-eat-it-too" of performance and efficiency. I'm game if this thing can sip power at idle but if we are talking about a space-heater cranking 300w with web browsing... then it's a hard pass. Sadly, all signs are pointing to this thing being the latter (ie space-heater/power pig).

So i think i`m going to need a small nuclear reactor for my next build, can anyone help me build one?... 😕

Power scaling works pretty well these days, only activating power when needed.

So I guess efficiency is out the window then. All these companies just going straight up more power. Have they all already hit the max they can do on current power usage?

seems to be coolers will be useless in the future so they just need to make those processors with different metal alloys that resist heat better (just don't touch it)

I want to see this sustained on AIR in CB! lol....

Raptor has a DIVR unit to decrease input voltages and stabilise what the cores actually get.

Oof. If the 13900K is 253W at 5.8 then the KS at 6+ghz will be 270+watts. ouch. Well guys time to throw away them winter heaters as a modern PC now looks after both gaming and heating all in one. ^^

Have about 1400 watts for the whole PC as budget leaving out 100 watts for speakers monitor and a led lamp ! Over that and the surge protection will start tripping ! So AMD Intel and Nvidia still have a bit of headroom .... Therefore they left performance out ! Or maybe in the future GPUs and CPUs will be coming with a 20 meter "adaptor" to plug the GPU or CPU to a different phase in a different room of your home ! And I am referring to all 3 Nvidia Intel and AMD !

Man even if I had unlimited budget I wouldn't spend 150usd more for better binned chip.

High clock speeds and power usage. It's like the second coming of the Pentium 4 and Bulldozer.
