I hope the iGPU performance kicks AMD out of the tavern. It's absurd AMD still sticks to the ancient GCN Vega, even in future products that haven't yet hit the market. The only reason they do that is because Intel hasn't been able to compete. If that doesn't remind everybody of the dead decade on the CPU side when Intel dominated single-handedly, I don't know what would.

Agreed am an AMD fan and would love to have a decent all in one chip in my Living room PC but cant because they are too old however i suspect once the consoles launch we may see more of the better GFX solutions from both

AMD isn't really using vega anymore for the 4k series its more of a hybrid with vega and navi elements they even cut the shaders down while clocking them way higher while also getting lower power use down so not really sure we can still call it vega. Regardless its good to see intel try to compete on the igpu side of things.

Seeing as how AMD's APU's, up until now, have been entry-level or budget processors....there really hasn't been much justification for giving them more graphics performance. They are pretty well balanced. Entry-level processor with entry-level graphics.

It's just due to AMD not wanting to hurt its own discrete GPU sales. I suppose it's a delicate balance there since PC manufacturers might as well go for the Nvidia discrete. Which is exactly what they did, seeing Nvidia's 80% market share. If AMD had integrated a better and modern iGPU, many a laptop wouldn't have had an Nvidia chip installed at all. I can imagine many more laptops also would have chosen AMD instead of Intel+Nvidia as it would have been cheaper to manufacture. The same goes for small form factor PCs that are sold without a video card. I'm thus not sure AMD made a wise decision back in the day, but then again, I'm not a businessman. Perhaps AMD still thinks they made the right choice.

The problem with AMD APUs is there are none to be found in DIY market
