^^^I am totally the opposite, i ditched the U way back last year because that was it, for me it was done after MK8, good console but lack of games, then i ditched the PS4 because i seemed to be just buying all my PS3 games again in remakes that i still had on the PS3, but the big change for me personally was PSN being madatory for online play on PS4, so i had to weigh up which service offered me better value for my buck, PSN or XBlive, and it was XBlive, free BC, four games a month i can play on the same system, and you keep all xbox 360 GWG reguardless of subscription, so it's just value at this point, with the final cherry on the XBX being four console formats in one box, original xbox, Xbox 360, XB1 and Xbox X games, i have a pile of original XBox games just gagging to be unleashed again, and i am hoping the original Forza Motorsport is one of the first to be announced for OXB Back compat. 🙂
So at this stage XBX is ticking all the right boxes for me, then add a nice 1070 next year to my PC and i am set for the next 3 years. 😉

For me the appeal of consoles died with the ps2, it was the last true console in my opinion. Or thats just my nostalgia talking. The fact is, these new consoles are becoming more similar to computers and i dont want no fake computer on my living room, i have a real computer on my bed room thank you very much. Theres exclusives though, thats cool.

Price is very good. But still there is likely no magic capable to make me buy it.

MS are right that it's the most powerful console ever made and I do love keeping up-to-date with all the info and making my list of games with resolution and fps for it. However, PC gaming is really where it's at for me. N64, PS and Dreamcast were my last consoles. I love handheld gaming so I've also got my Switch and Vita, as well as ipads for my family.
E3 2017 cemented my current position with most of those X1X games coming to PC. The argument online is that you can't build a PC for the price of the X1X, which is very true. However, for the price of an X1X, for current PC owners; that's also a nice graphics card upgrade.
MS has also been shutting-down a lot of their studios, so, we're now seeing a total lack of first party games. You can't keep the gamers with just 3 known franchises (Halo, GOW and Forza). There's got to be more. Cancelling Scalebound and delaying other games just isn't looking good. On top of that, they're cheeky enough to down-play the value in single-player titles like Horizon Zero Dawn, while recruiting people to make their own "version". lol.
If I was to get a console now in 2017, it'd have to be the PS4 Pro. Sony seems to understand something, and that is to leave it to 3rd parties to do all the big multiplayer+multiplatform games, while they focus on story-driven games. That's a great working formula and because they have more titles to play with, it means they're not pressured into doing the "annual updated release" thing that drains players pockets without offering much in the way of new games.
On MS side of things, you just know it's going to be rehashes again next year or two, with Forza Motorsport 8, Forza Horizon 4, Halo 6, Halo Wars 3, GoW 5 etc. Yeah, you know it.
Finally, upgrading titles like Rise of the Tomb Raider for X1X is great, however, there's nothing there that I feel couldn't be patched into the PC version. I wish them luck and hope that X1X helps MS to also improve PC gaming.
