I was hoping to get Meteor Lake this year, the timing would be right for me. Oh well, I'll wait.

Intel's process 7 is actually 10nm, if I remember correctly?

tty8k:

There is no meteor lake anymore. You get raptor lake refresh this summer and arrow lake next year.
Hmm, thats not so bad, thx!

thats right, its 10nm enhanced superfin ++++(+?), they renamed their 7nm euv to intel 4nm aswell.

Like tty8k said, most likely no Meteor lake. Rumours point to it being laptop only most likely, with a tiny chance of a desktop i5 that's 6P+8E, but that seems to be scrapped too.

Is this a true refresh or just binning of superior cpu's?

So this means no major changes in CPU performance until 2024. 13th Gen and Zen4 will remain top CPUs for a while.

I miiiight get arrow lake or the thing after, i got this 8core 2years ago? and it still feels so fresh, don't need anything more powerfull atm. Shitty game engines won't make me switch just yet, i rather not play those games at all 😛

It's not clear yet if there is going to be any significant changes other than higher clocks. There are some speculations regarding more cache and better IMC but I have my doubts.
DIVR is enabled and functional on the refresh.

I might wait for Arrow Lake myself, honestly my 8 Core/16tread feels fast enough for my tasks that i got 2 years ago. Though wouldn't mind experiencing Performance Cores and Efficiency Cores, but for now i think i'll wait for at least Arrow Lake or Further Lake Desktop processor to launch. Though might sometime replace my Gaming Laptop sooner perhaps and might try to get a Processor with P & E Cores for that system this time

Yeah they renamed it to more match the tsmc on numbering since tsmc also is not real 7nm pretty much the Intel 10nm or Intel 7 are close in density to tsmc 7nm . And the 14/16 nm from glofo and tsmc where actually 20nm finfet and the actual traditional 20nm was a failed node so none touched it (low yields small improvements vs the 28nm !) This is why the market got stuck to 28nm for a while !
