It's impressive for a single die, and since these are P-cores I could see this outperforming AMD's 64-core models. However... I imagine this is going to be ludicrously expensive and AMD still has models with more than double the core count (not to mention, AMD's SMT works better, and their AVX512 uses less power). So, this is about a year or two too late.

It's a good thing Intel unceremoniously fired their previous CEO, so that Intel, as well, can glue chiplets together into bigger CPUs. The previous CEO would have seen Intel destroyed from within. It would probably have been catastrophic for the PC world at least in the short run, though it might have accelerated the development of alternatives to the x86-64, from non-Intel/AMD sources.
