I guess that would depend on whether you buy the 8 core or not? I'm going to wait for X99 before I do anything platform wise.

8 cores are tempting for PS, AE, Prem etc but I need to see some numbers before I commit. For gaming I suspect it wont bring very much to the table. I'll be happy to be proved wrong but considering the 4960X doesn't have much on the 980X where gaming is concerned, I'm not holding my breath 😉
