A bit early to see Rocket Lake already. Been only a couple months since Comet Lake release.
New arch is exciting, however with Intel stance that benchmark doesn't matter, I guess it will be side grade regarding performance. I guess there will be more performance gain on iGPU side, rather than CPU.
according to wiki, Rocket Lake is aimed at 2H 2020.

Always good to see more trash from Intel, if only they keep being nr.2 performance wise for decade or so, we should get closer to a somewhat equal playing field between AMD and Intel. Good for everyone(besides intel ofc)

This could enable some very interesting laptops. I bet they were rushing so that they could keep Apple, but apparently that ship had sailed since Skylake.

The financial difference between Intel and AMD is still like that between Heaven and Earth, and looking at all the news, Intel isn't simply trying to catch up with AMD purely in core architecture efficiency (or let's call it modernity) or anything like that. They have myriad projects going on, each of them contributing to the overall status of their ecosystem in their own way. Such as having the smaller and bigger cores in the same CPU or the persistent memory technology to name but a couple of them. AMD probably doesn't have the muscles to divide their efforts too much. Even the GPU side had to eat crumbs while the Zen architecture got most of the attention. It's probably the new console generation that allowed AMD to push forward a bit better with GPUs. Intel trusts in its GPU development enough to sign contracts for supercomputers, despite having insignificant history with GPUs.
