Holy crap, I was not expecting them to earn so much money, especially when you consider Nvidia's influence on servers and the release of Ryzen.

And now i just wish that old folks who put it in my head maxim that lying and cheating doesn't payoff were alive so i can kick them in their old saggy asses.

Stellar earnings, pretty much wiping out any fears over Meltdown/Spectre. Stock is up 10% this morning. Dividends also increased so investors should be very happy.

I don't know about Nvidia's influence, but Ryzen's influence was felt on the earnings. As highlighted by this article, desktop platform volumes decreased 5% compared to the year before (it was the only dark spot in otherwise stellar earnings). This explains why AMD stock is up 3.8% as well (Nvidia stock is also up 2.1% so investors may have also spotted some impact here as well).
