Theres 10+ in stock over at the Westmont microcenter, so if anyone is interested now is the time baby! I would pair that baby up with a really nice Asus Rog board,32 gb 4000 mhz ram, 1080 ti sli possibly? Ahhhh its nice to dream.
It'd also be nice to not be raped by Intel again. There's going to have to be a really massive reason for me not to build a Ryzen system instead. I'm just waiting for RAM prices to stop being triple BS... so uh... see you in 2022?

Yes, this is the first CPU with 5 Ghz from factory that Intel has made. But, the year of 5 GHz speed was 5 years ago. When AMD launched FX-9590, factory clocked with one core to reach 5 GHz, there was no X86 Anniversary. So, for that Intel will always be 3 steps behind from AMD. Not in terms of performance, but in terms of innovation. So, stick with AMD for most advanced technologies. -3 points for Intel. About the price, the i7 is overpriced. Choose wise, choose Ryzen.

Why they haven't been doing this the whole time I'll never understand. Everything I've been seeing and reading on the 8700k seems to suggest it's limited more by the lack of heat transfer from the actual chip to the heatspreader than from the spreader to whatever cooler is being used.
