Intel dropped PR in the Netherlands, they do not communicate whatsoever with Dutch press. Regardless, I always test my own way and not what a manufacturer indicates or finds 'the best'.

Cool, cheers. Looking forward to the full Ryzen reviews and articles.

Intel: "I'm sure Ryzen can't touch our CPU market, let's just lower the prices a bit so media keeps talking about us" AMD: "Puny kids, the new king is here, AMD has risen!" Seriously, what do they expect with these price drops? Still far from competitive...if they want to keep selling they need to set the price lower than the competition for their house warmers with 140W TDP.

Intel also did some price cut for sandy bridge to welcome FX (bulldozer). But bulldozer just got bulldozed back without Intel doing anything fancy. AMD brought core count into wrong time. Don't relate Intel behavior with Ryzen performance. Intel can just lower prices to get attention on themselves, so people who follow hype without research also checks Intel new price offers. Valid benchmarks results and actual price of Ryzen CPUs on market will lead Intel to further procedure. Sad thing is, if Ryzen will actually become a hit, retailers can just sell them for double of price, and people will still buy them. Supply and Demand.

So basically its one retailer that got nervous, and decided to drop prices on some models, with "in store pickup" and limited availiability. Lets hope for a chain reaction. And then a price war. I sure as hell wont be buying supposedly super cheap 8-core at a bargain price of "only" $400. For that money I can get nice amp, or a NAS, or new Vega gfx card :P

Indeed, take a look at the News forum, look at how many of the posts over the last few weeks are all about Ryzen. Drop a little price drop in the mix and boom top topic is people talking about Intel. Doesn't matter weather Intel are concerned about Ryzen all this is is a little prod to keep Intel in peoples' mind at a time when everyone is talking about Ryzen. The real action will happen when the benchmarks start rolling in, even then I would still expect some pricing action by Intel even if their chips are still blowing AMDs new CPUs out of the water, yet again just to keep them in the mix.

Do you have any links to this?

I really hope that Ryzen does really well. Intel has had a monopoly on the performance crown for too long.

Just to clarify a bit. This is not Intel doing , only @ Microcenter that this price cut accrued , everywhere else the price remained the same

This "big price drop" "$80 drop from 7700K" is a big bullcr*p They list the 7700K at $379 dropped to $299, when you can check every webshop it was sold for $329 everywhere, not $379.

..remained the same...which was already only a tad higher than the "big pricedrop" microcenter prices.

I've seen a price reduction in intel models in another spanish store, but only 20/30 euros depending on the model...Who knows, let's wait a few days and see how the prices change..or not. For now I'm just eager for the review HH!! Your servers are gonna get a lot of work when you release it, abd my wallet maybe too

And Microcenter always has deals and sales on CPU's. I've got my last 3 CPU's there for almost $100 cheaper than anywhere else I could find.

AND INTEL IS A BUCH OF MONNEY GRUBING ASS PIPES! Last CPU I bought was Sandy 2600k. NOW I will upgrade they can suck it. Hope these are GREAT and they downed in CPUS.

This only shows how intentional these CPU was overpriced. Paying a 250Eur for 4c/4t CPU is just ridiculous.

Question, do they add any taxes on top of the price like sales tax etc ?

In Europe an i7 7700K costs from 350 euros to 450 euros depending on country and retailer and i5 250 to 330 euros. Yes they are overpriced because why not? No competition they can charge whatever they want.
