Stephen Hawking has had an amazing journey for someone that was originally given only an few years to live. Also I would think Intel would be able to take an recording of Hawking's original voice and get rid of the artificial sounding computer voice by somehow making the original sound of his voice part of the software programing.

They have offered him better voices. But he feels that voice is now his because he has used it for so long and it is so greatly associated with him. Not sure if something developed around his original voice could persuade him to change.

Yeah I watched some documentary on him recently and he was saying how he would like a faster way to communicate but he wouldn't want an upgraded voice because this is how he is known.

Oh his voice is fairly known, and I can understand why he wants to keep it. But, his greatest work is in the writings, books and publications, nevermind his voice 😉

Some might argue the main reason he's gotten as much attention as he has. has to do with mostly with his situation. And the truth probably lies somewhere in between.

Sure it is. He's known amongst the phyicists because of his knowledge and theorems about the universe, okay. But non of us 'normal' people would know about him if it wasn't for his special condition. At least that's how I think it'd be if Mr. Hawking wouldn't suffer from his illness. Actually, has anybody recently followed those new jacks that meant, the way of solving the information paradoxon isn't Hawking radiation, but the saving of all information swallowed by a black hole on it's surface?
