Not bad. Not bad at all. Performs pretty damn well in games and since all those graphs are stock, this will be a beast when overclocked. Besides, who's gonna buy one of these and not overclock it? Also a person overclocking one of these is not gonna give s rat's buttcheeks about power consumption. Maybe I should upgrade my Core i9 7980xe for this but... I liquid metal'd my 7980xe.

speaking for myself but....the reason why I want to change from Z390 are the pcie lanes which prevent me from using more than 1 nvme (at the loss of 2 sata ports per nvme the cost is too high on PCH lanes) which prevent me from using my thunderbolt 3 pcie card which prevent me from using an addon usb ports pcie card which force me to use pcie x8 speed for my gpu real case scenario here I have cards taking dust because of my lack of lanes plugging them makes my sata drives disappear (when you run out of lanes they disappear even in the bios it's like they are unplugged) the 3950x (my mistake at the time) doesn't really fix that it adds if I understood right 4 lanes to Z390 ?! which is still not enough two possibilities for threadripper, either it's going to suck at gaming like the previous gen, which I expect but very much hope it doesn't or it's going to destroy Intel everywhere whatever it is I'm ready to pay the TR price I learned with Z390 that my use case is too extreme for a "consumer" setup https://i.postimg.cc/gnPpsBVN/Whats-App-Image-2019-11-22-at-15-08-10.jpg +1 on the power consumption, if you use that kind of HW for work then it's your customers who pay the bills or part of them, if not you don't care in the least

"More cores, more secure, faster, stronger."
"Cheaper" Should have been enough. But not cheap enough... unfortunately. Especially when considering total platform cost.

Final words & conclusion Of course, you will not be purchasing an 18-core processor to play games, that would be ludicrous Conclusion The biggest competitor for the Core i9 10980XE is not at all Threadripper 3000 as you'll find out later today

This CPU's price is at the price of the AMD 3900x + X570 + NVMe 1To that i have just paid. My new CPU look really good in bench compared to this one despite having less core (wich confirm my 1st feeling about it, coming from dual Xeon) Comparing AMD's mainstream to Intel's high end is not good to Intel at all, even more with the old chipset used in 2066... So yes, i agree with you, this is a good CPU for upgrade a 2066, but way too expensive.

Finished reading the entire review, and also some youtube videos. Oh boy Threadripper 3000 is going to demolish this so hard... [youtube=My2FRPA3Gf8]

Well, this is not a problem ๐Ÿ™‚ -if delited your spacer won't fit the new CPU in 90% of the case: remove the spacer+CPU+(water or air) cooler and make someone happy with it (and get his money too ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) -if delited with normal IHS (btw: NEVER use copper one like you found on the net, copper is worse than actual used by Intel, it's only to milk people) then it's like a normal CPU (but then liquid metal benefit is lost)

I haven't been this underwhelmed since Sandy Bridge.

Including the price cut, this feels like a product release Intel did to buy some time until they can get a new architecture out. This should be of interest to some with the massively cut price, but all in all the results are kind of lackluster.

seriously wtf? it barely beats 3950X with 2 more cores and even loses in some tests
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/229/229509.jpg
I can't see why anyone would go for this over the 3950X, it's cheaper, in most cases, faster, draws less power, cheaper motherboard, newer PCIe tech...

I don't think this deserves the "Recommended" badge, not because its a bad product but because there is better.

The clue might be in the opening paragraph.

nice wording from Hilbert it hints at things without saying anything precise so we are still left wondering please be better than the previous TR at gaming please please please, daddy wants a TRX40 motherboard ๐Ÿ˜€ https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/Creator-TRX40 like SNL Stefon would say "this has everything" ๐Ÿ˜Ž (except TB3)

Honestly, I don't share the "recommended" opinion either, but to read into it that @Hilbert Hagedoorn is giving away that sticker simply because he got some help on Intel's side is pretty daring. I believe he has a reasoning for this in some way, I did not read the article fully (just graph scanning), but what you two say is that it's a paid review, which I honestly doubt. Let alone the personal insult a professional journalist might see in it.

Integrity would have been waiting a few hours and releasing both tests together......

just watched Linus, he destroys the Intel ๐Ÿ˜ฑ I'll resume the review for people who don't have time to watch "Intel, we strongly dislike your childish marketing tactic of lifting the embargo just before AMD does...you cowards" "the hardware mitigation of security flaws seems to have a noticeable performance hit" from my perspective it's a Z390+ with nvme and pcie slots you can actually use, that's not a "bad" product per say, I would maybe have considered it if it came with pcie 4.0 10gbe more lanes etc but compared to the TRX40 or X570 motherboards Intel is obsolete @Dwwwolf : not in this world, like vultures or sharks lol people really interested on those products want to know everything asap
