No for their motherboards, not chipsets.

pretty sure it is for chip sets as well for example it installs the sata driver for my old system on a gigabyte board.

Do we still need to use the "/overall" switch?
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/56/56004.jpg
Would this work for both my Intel boards? Asus Maximus II Formula (P45 chipset) Asus Rampage IV Extreme (X79) Just curious, prolly will not bother installing as everything seems to be working nicely...

Create a shortcut on the desktop and right-click -> properties; there, in "target" field. I did this on Windows 8 and now in Device Manager all Intel-related stuff use 9.2.0.1031 with 9/10/2012 date. This example conerns P67 chipset. You might get other, more appropriate version for your Chipset -don't expect the same ( 9.2.0.1031 ).

@thatguy91 Thanks for the tip. @NiColaoS Facepalm, I knew I forgot something. (I was doing that straight on the setup file)

unable to find ahci driver name for intel board. Dz77sl 50k. exe files are installers, don't seem to contain the driver itself. unzippers don't find anything in the exe file. there are 92 inf/cat files, but none named ahci. I can't run the exe file until I have installed windows, and cannot install windows until I find the ahci driver file to slipstream into the installation CD, I can't even use a floppy drive until I know which files are the actual drivers, there are no driver files anywhere, just assorted inf, cat, cab files, none of which are named anything to do with the motherboard. I've wasted two days searching google and have found nothing but suggestions on HOW to install the drivers, HOW to slipstream them into things, but of course, no way to find the actual driver files themselves because there is no information as to what those drivers are named. Without that, I cannot do anything.

What version of Windows are you trying to install? XP?

I've been using XP pro. I already have a install disk with sp3 slipstreamed into it which works fine in older machines with mechanical drives, but I wanted to go up to ssd's for everything. I already have win 7 running fine, but assume the drivers for a 64 bit machine will be different than what I need for 32 bit xp. I have a version of xp 64 with service pack 2, but that stops on installation as well. Then again, I'm not sure if older software will run on winxp 64 but thought I'd give it a shot. But again, I'm guessing that doesn't have an intel ahci driver for this motherboard, the intel dz77sl 50k.
