The word "Terrible" sticks out like a sore thumb.

A780 will be the flagship i think so somewhat faster and more like 3060ti/3070.

I hope that i'm very wrong, but this release really feels like a 2nd Raja's Vega... come on intel we need you

Isn't Arc having a splendid start? Why else would Pat Gelsinger have promoted Raja Koduri to executive vice president?

So if there are 2 results and average is 34%, if this one is at 7%, does that mean other result is at 61% (there is also 61% on graph as well)?! I am not familiar with userbenchmark math/results, so I could be wrong...

You beat me to it, Raja jumps ship from AMD to Intel to make GPU's. Suddenly AMD's GPUs get better, and Intel are potentially making inferior ones? This could destroy Raja's career if he doesn't turn this around. Intel won't be happy with selling inferior GPUs to AMD and nvidia

Raja had big involvement in RDNA / Navi in general , a GPU architecture does not materialize in existence with in a year or two .... Also Polaris was great for the category it was on . Vega might lost to Nvidia's pascal but it was not bad if anything Vega 56 and 64 are decent cards and if their owners undervolt em a bit they are not the power hogs the came out to be just so AMD can squeeze out the last 5% to match Nvidia's counterparts .

After started Raja working for S3 they got start downhill quite fast 🙂 But he is minimally from 2001 or so, some director, manager etc.. so he would be as majority of people in his positions technically very incompetent and out of loop.. i thing that role of such people is overated, its more about how good people are people two or three levels under his positions.. and its more about hire and keep right people there. Success of Nvidia technology also wasnt made by some guy not funny guy in leather jacket..

i'm referring to the release more than the product itself, vega wasn't that bad, but the launch was sketchy and very problematic, i doubt a person as Raja can destroy his carrer but definetly he tend to make big claims about the numbers of his developments and the product itself end up not being that great, i think consummer market is even harder than the commercial market

I’m curious as to what would considered an acceptable level of performance for those cards.

It's very fluid, I would say pricing will be a catalyst. Some will claim a failure if they do much the top end but if they can actually bring a 3060ti to around 350 and actually sell for that they will sell a lot. Now if they try to sell em same price Nvidia and AMD selling their cards at the same performance tier I do not think anyone will be willing to take a gamble with Intel's drivers . In such case Intel might try to push their cards threw OEM builds .

Most of their sales will be from OEMs and laptops, Intel will use the same strategy they used many years ago of give "incentives" to the companies that manufacture OEMs. They lost almost no money on the trial compared to how much they made

I really think expectations are way to high. If they put out a decent mid-grade GPU, it's a good start. Mid grades cards are a far bigger market. Then again, I will wait for Guru reviews to judge.
