Imagine the monitor resolution and refresh rate you could make with this thought a single cable...
8K 60 fps would be around 40Gbps 4K 60 fps is 19.2Gbps

Imagine this: The bandwidth between my GPU and on-board vram on my HD 7850 (1GHz/5.6GHz) is ~180GB/sec. Is anyone using Thunderbolt as an interface between a GPU & monitor? If you have a link to something like that it would be interesting to see... What's wrong with this, though...?

Well, I use thunderbolt to connect my Macbook pro with the LG 34UM95-P. The monitor also houses an USB hub which is connected through the Thunderbolt interface.
