I'm debating if I should upgrade (from 12900K DDR4 3600 14) to 7800 X3D or to 14700K hmn.. RAM compatibility for faster memory looks better on Intel, but 14700K/14900K will need much better cooling solution, and I'm getting sick and tired of how loud most AIO's are xD

Both AMD and Intel need good cooling solution, btw I'm using a 120mm air cooler on my 13700K running 5.4ghz all core (+100mhz)

currently on 13600KF im pretty happy undervolted running very stable and cool, no single crash since upgrade in april2023 and desktop is on 24/7, maybe a year after 14700K/KF release for a good price, would be tempting stepup plus refresh

Leaks from the PC Canada in the last couple years are always close to actual pricing and I will be buying a 14700KF which will not have any performance gains for my use case and will cost more than the previous version of the 13700KF. OH wait but there is more with the new fancy 14700KF you get an additional 4x E-cores at little to no extra cost ,now that's a bargin. It is like the new ShamWow but you can not clean the dirt of Intel. 13700KF in Canada around release time Price $620.37 after tax

A 12900k is a very good CPU, you will need to look up reviews for the things you want to use it for, because the difference between a 12900k and 14900k could be anywhere between 0-25% performance difference, depending on workload, screen Hz, resolution and game settings.
