Cheaper Bayerdynamic DT770 with microphone. And more cool look. Plus worse driver. That how it look 🙂

I have experience with both of their drivers, beyers do sound well but if you crank up the volume the drivers are too weak/small/cheap and will rattle/distort and destroy themselves over time. Not to mention if you have pets their driver housing design is ****. Except for dt880 that one will stop hairs from sticking to fhe driver others won't. Only beyer drivers worth a damn are the teslas. This is a cheap headset with larger drivers and decent-ish bass if amped or at least the first version was. Really comfy memory foam but the headphone adjustment notches are trash and will fail to hold the cups in place. 7.1 is a gimmick, stereo is the best for headphones and in general in most circumstances. V-moda lp2 with a mic is much more impressive bang for buck.

Just ordered one of these to get rid of my horrendous Logitech G430!! Will match my PC's color scheme of red/black perfectly too 🙂 Will let you guys know my impressions when they arrive. Also I own a pair of DT770's as well (the closed ear cup ones) only use those for music editing on my second rig.

Meh, I have a Sound Blaster Z for a reason. Also, already have the original Cloud 🙂

Excellent pair of headphones!! Solid build quality, insanely comfortable, good quality sound, not overpowering bass, and a great mic that works perfectly in teamspeak with no setup or tweaking needed and it doesn't pick up any ambient sound either like from my pretty loud mechanical keyboard lol. The 7.1 button actually works well for gaming (not so much for music). Overall a great buy, and the red color matches my PC color scheme perfectly 🙂

I had a Sound Blaster Z but I can't use it anymore. With my SLI setup I get really really annoying buzzing in my headphones when gaming, and it even transmits over my headphones to my team mates in team speak when I talk. I tried everything and the only thing that works is a USB headset. The on board sound works but it is so bad that I just disable it in the BIOS and pretend its not there lol. I would still have my sound blaster Z and 5.1 kave headset if it wasn't for me wanting more GPU grunt 😉 This is also the thing, the CLOUD 1 and CLOUD 2 are identical apart from the colors and the external USB DAC that comes with the CLOUD 2. Other than that the two headsets are identical specs wise. So if anyone doesn't want USB or 7.1 or a nice pink headset :P save some cash and get the CLOUD 1.

I'm sorry but this is madness, I've experience with Beyers and nothing you've stated regarding them holds true. I owned a set of DT990's for awhile and I've spent time with DT880's and 770's -- the quality of the cans is always outstanding. The only issue I have with Beyer products is the lack of a detachable cable as standard. They're far from my favourite audio products but your comments regarding their drivers and headphones is nonsense. If you think having pets can hamper headphone use, I'd suggest you need to clean up more often.

I would highly recommend getting some Brainwavz HM5 ear pads for the Clouds. You can get them from Amazon UK. I have the original cloud and got the HM5 pads and LOVE them, so much more comfortable than the stock pads as they don't allow your ears to touch the drivers. They also seemed to slightly improve the sound stage. They come in both pleather and velor, I prefer the pleather for the better bass and sound isolation.
