Wonder what the price will be. Newegg sells the 8TB version for $700

I would be happy with a 5TB under $300.

Wouldn't say no to a 10TB SSD

Start saving now and in 2017 you'll get your 10tb SSD, you might need to part with one of your kidneys though as the price of a 10tb SSD will be priced like a small family car.

how much data you need stored?? lmao, I still only use 500gb and only use 200gb of that , unless i feel the need to install all the game i own at once, which i do not. It great storage space in hdd is going up to bad SSD lagging behind special in price though

Drives this big are more geared towards people who run file servers or do lots of backups. I have 8TB's in my NAS right now that stores all of my movies that streams over my network.

More massive storage is very much needed if you are any way involved in video... I went out yesterday as I sometimes do when it is sunny with my 4K camera - shot 70 short clips (most in just HD resolution) - total length 29m35s - size on disk is 20.3GB For example a single 4K clip at 100Mbps is 2m29s long and is 1.66GB in size. If you shot in the more pro formats the size requirements are bigger still...

Thinking of doing that but I want 10 TB HDD's to become mainstream first (kind of like the 4TB HDD's now). Data fills up so fast with video :x

And here I am with 8.5 TB and only about 1TB free space and the wedding season has just started (I'm a wedding cameraman/editor) ... I've been eyeing the Seagate Archive 8TB HDD for a while now ... its just very expensive here and I have other things to buy suchs as a 980Ti that costs 850+ euroes ... the HDD itself is about 325 euroes ....
