If you are thinking go with air cooling, then this one should the fit bill nicely as normal NH-D15 can obstruct first PCI_E slot, not sure if on Z170, but in X99 like mine will slightly obstruct first PCI_E slot,but still I'm using in first slot GTX1080 without the single issue With two A15 fans or Thermalright TY-147A or TY-143 will perform as NH-D15 Great cooler and cools my i7-5820k at 4.5Ghz and 4.6Ghz too with very nice temps under heavy load Hope this helps Thanks, Jura
