Good. Id rather it be released when its actually done than get released with a massive patch 1 day later. Developers these days really don't put much effort into bug testing. While games are much more complicated than they were back in the early 2000s and 90s, games are often recycled engines and involve teams as large as movie studios, so there's no excuse.

Rockstar are one of the few developers who are brave enough to delay a game, they did the same with Max Payne 3.
Even ignoring it from a PC gamer point of view, the fact that in the past console games did not get patches meant that more effort was spent getting it right for Day1, nowadays there isn't that same pressure as nearly everyone is online in some shape or form.

Money first, patches later, PC next year.
I expect this to be rotten full of bugs just like GTA IV, it's inevitable with such a large map. Look at how many patches BF3 had and in size...2GB just for one patch.

It needed more CPU power and vram than most had at time, but the game wasn't what I considered to be buggy, certainly not for a PC game anyway.
While I hope the PC version is delayed as it just needs more time, I hope the delay isn't too long as it will be tempting to not pick up a console version, or even more tempting a next gen console version.

I'd rather wait til 2015 for a pc release, but a real pc version of the game and not that crappy console port like GTA 4.

PC release will 99% come out no earlier than spring 2014. Fuuuuuuuu...

So GTA 5 for PC in 2014 that is a pretty long time to wait, GTA 4 for PC was out on Dec 2008, wow that is almost 6 years between them!
I hope it will run well on ivy+kepler combination and not suck like GTA 4 did on that era's hardware (bloomfied+crossfire hd5850 cried when they had to run it!), actually i hope it runs on the better RAGE engine used in Max Payne 3, then i can forget about updating my rig in 2013! more savings for me since i have a GF.. ouch 😉

mm, i can see it clearly, there is still no gpu and cpu combo to play that smoothly, optimized really unprofessionally so their only hope is slowing it down, not pushing a complete computing fail like GTA IV

Who really cares when we have Sleeping Dogs, which is far superior to anything I've experienced while playing a GTA game; better graphics, better performance (rock solid 60 fps on a single 7970 with everything maxed except AA downsampled from 1440p,), better story, better characters, etc. GTA IV ran like crap for years, had so much boring filler material, and worst of all for me, the characters were complete a**holes. I didn't mind Niko that much, but the rest of the losers, I just wanted to shoot them all myself. Movement felt sluggish on foot and in vehicles too.
Redemption80
Sleeping Dogs is a good game and its great looking, but it doesn't have the scale of GTAIV, and V will be even bigger.
The expansions in 4 were great as i also found the main campaign disappointing but as good as some of these others games are most people will just look at them as GTA clones.

Well, part of my disliking the GTA series is being an American, I find the stereotyped characters boring and annoying. Hong Kong is a refreshing change of pace for me I guess.
warlord
only one game will be perfect and open world, watchdogs by noobisoft erm ubisoft... all others like gta v and sleeping dogs are like ps3/xbox360 games

^ agree up to the part about saints row. that game is bad by every standard. it doesn't take itself seriously, i know, but that doesn't excuse it from being bad. sleeping dogs did it right.
Redemption80
Personal taste isn't a fact, many might prefer Sleeping Dogs to GTAIV, but there are just as many who think it no more than a smaller scale copy.
As for Saints Row that was just bad in every way, while GTA taking itself too serious made much of it dull, Saints Row was too far in the opposite direction, so much so I was pleased that THQ went tits up as the new owners can only improve it.
