This goes for all cards not just the newer series, i was in market last month and can attest to this.

Knew it will happen, sold my gtx 970, bought MSI 1080ti for decent price (cca the price of new 970 back in the days + 30%) and I dont care what this degenerated market does for another X years. Selling my old overheating 970 gave me 30% of the money spent back. Also bought quite cheap fresh new Samsung 1tb EVO ssd to go with my old 0,5tb one. These will get expensive as well.
Im set. RTX is deffinitely OFF and I will not mourn that loss at all.
I would never buy a 8gb card! Zero Dawn I enjoy now casually eats 10 gigs in 1920x1200p
Really, Im glad this is over for me. 1080ti is a beast for 1200p/60fps gaming. 6 core 3600 is enough. 16gb 3333mhz ram and Im GONE. For all I can say, this market can KMA

Yep, 4000 series it is.

Before the most recent price hike 1080ti was £200 less.

I never had a top end GPU, even that 970 was too expensive for my taste. So now 1st time I can see what the fuzz was all about and god damn is the 1080ti a beast. You guys who enjoyed this for 4+ years already (or how long) were not lying. Also, compared to the more recent cards, this one feels like the V12 engine from the past. These modern same performance cards like 3060 or 3060ti are like superboosted 3 valve "engines" with RGB to sweeten the deal. The 1080ti"s 352bit bus, 11gb VRAM... its rugged.

Imagine living in times when you could buy and resell unused graphics cards for a profit in weeks. Like stocks. Or when graphics cards are worth their weight in silver. Which they are at times.

If someone was looking to get into PC gaming these days I'd actually steer them towards Gaming Laptops, bang for your buck seems to be in favour of them.
Just specced a couple of Acer Nitro's for work with 5900HX's and 3080 (mobile versions obviously) for just north of 2k. Comparable add-in graphics cards (as near as I can tell 3060TI/3070's) are almost half of that budget on their own! Never mind a full ready to go system that is easily available.

Strange... The price didn't change in Norway 🙂

My old 2080ti is holding strong even with RTX in most games, especially at 1440. I guess it's just a waiting game at this point, maybe by the 4000 series who knows. It's real shame on graphics card makers who wouldn't have made it without us gamers supporting them and now they don't want to do a simple thing like wait listing folks buying single cards at regular price to show they still care about the rest of us.
