Alright! I so hope this latest installment will go a step back to the roots when you just needed to get points and stuff. Maybe having a high score could affect something in game? GTA should be about the rampage in the city beside story telling. Sometimes you just want to cause chaos, but it should reward the player somehow. Reputation meters between different gangs should be returned.

I think most people are expecting a return to Vice City, but with nothing being confirmed hell Rockstar could surprise everyone with something totally new. What I'm wondering most is what they're gonna do with GTA online. Are they gonna keep adding to what they already have or release a whole new foundation? With Dan Houser leaving the company I'm thinking their main focus might be online.

Their is no way they can continue to build on the foundation of the current GTA when I quit it two years ago it had become a barely functional mess. The entire game gave the impression of being one update from falling over and with Rcokstars updates and additions getting lazier and more buggy I am surprised that the game has lasted this long without some sort of major bug causing the entire thing to collapse. The physics engine needs overhauled as the cars are a joke. They were experimenting with this when I quit the game, adding new condition flags to the new cars to prevent long standing issues such as kerb boosting. Of course Rcokstar being lazy only added the new flags to the new cars ergo making them slower than the existing cars and thus worthless in racing. The back end of the game needs a total rebuild, the matchmaking is pathetic, that's all that can be said totally and utterly pathetic. The way the game handles game modes and lobbies is also pathetic it was a barely functioning shambles at release and has had exactly f*ck all done to fix it in the five years of the game. Slow, at the whim of the slowest least stable connection, unstable, far to many loading screens, literally EVERYTHING has a loading screen. The throw everything at the screen and see what sticks that means there are now 100,000 different things to do sounds like it gives the players a world of options but sadly this is not the case. Fun activities get sidelined in favour of the activities that reward the most money for the least effort. If you do happen to find a mode or activity that you enjoyed you had better hope that someone else likes it otherwise you'll be stuck in a lobby forever waiting for people to join and this doesn't extend to the more obscure mission and game types. something as basic as creating a lobby with catch up turned off can leave you stuck in an empty lobby for hours waiting and that's just a small issue. This is just a small issue, the vast wealth of mission types is not a result of a dedicated developer spending time and effort to deliver engaging, fun, well developed content that works well with the base mechanics of the game. It is a clear sign of a lazy developer sh*tting out flavour of the month game modes to try and desperately engage with whatever is popular at the time. The result are buggy, lazy looking, feeling game modes and 'events' that are often lacking in the basic premise of fun. In short they need to brain storm a clear series of game mode types that fit with the base mechanics and gameplay of the core game. They need to build well developed missions and activities around these game modes and they need to stick to these game modes only adding to them in instances where they are willing to put in the work to make them work and on top of that they need to create game modes that reward the player on a measured basis of activity. ( I mean they could just drop the money rules everything ideology of the game and that would mean people would play for how fun the activity is rather than which activities reward most for least effort) This will have the net effect of giving a smaller but better focused series of game modes to join and make it more likely that game lobbies will populate with people wanting to play the game mode.

I just started playing it a few months ago since I heard the game was especially rough and boring when it first came out. I've had a lot of fun with it, but yeah it has some major technical issues mainly with no effective anti-mod support. People can actually make your game crash to desktop it's crazy. But I wouldn't change a thing with the physics and driving mechanics, the matchmaking isn't that bad right now and even for a solo player the grinding is still fun imo. Whatever they do for the next one though for the love of god please do not add flying rocket bikes with heat seeking missiles! 😡

Meh, since GTA V hardly got any sp love and they ditched it for online am sure the same will happen with VI, so for me it will prob be a pass on this franchise now, yeah the graphics looked great in V but the content was lacking, i shouldn't have to relay on mods to give a bit more

Hmm would be interesting to see especially with the fancy new graphics engine and other features (Whenever the PC version comes out at least.) could also go all out ala Total Overdose but I think GTA is currently less over the top and a bit more grounded, well of sorts at least compared to the earlier games. Could go Total Overdose though but I expect it won't, probably a ways off from being announced or revealed or teased or however it works nowadays. https://assets1.ignimgs.com/2005/08/19/total-overdose-a-gunslingers-tale-in-mexico-20050819035642789-1209506_640w.jpg

I don't really have any functionality issues. Game runs fine to me, and I'm running it through Linux, where I'm more likely to see problems.

Physics engine is different than car stats. Seeing as the game isn't meant to be realistic, the physics work fine for what they intend to be. I've played other games with unrealistic physics that were more rage-inducing. The only physics-related thing that still pisses me off that every GTA game has is the way many skiny objects (like trees on sidewalks or certain metal posts) can bring anything to a stop.

I haven't done much multiplayer, but I've found GTA5 had the worst single-player story mode of all the games, so I can't say I'm surprised multiplayer is lackluster too.

A return to a Vice City type setting would be excellent. I'm old school GTA. I simply do not care about the MP side. So long as they get the single player game right, I'll be content and Rockstar always delivers there. But I have to agree with the sentiment that the story in V was unremarkable. The game-play was great but you need a solid story to tie it all together to deliver a true masterpiece like days past.
