console port with 6 months extra tweaking for the PC platform

If this game is going to be a port from the xbone then its going to suffer the same issues GTA 4 had - bad glitchy graphics and random PC crashes...

have faith, max payne 3 came out after gta4 from R* and was a really good performer on the PC + 6 months extra after the new consoles can only help optimization

Not with its fair share of glitches either - only after the second patch update I think, was my loading screen freeze and graphics glithces solved (graphics on 1080p looked like it was a squeezed resolution / wrong aspect ratio) But I agree - very good performance in comparison to GTA...

Yesterday Rcokstar releases the system requirements if you plan to play with your PC on Ultra HD. Now we assume that if you already have an Ultra HD monitor, the rest of the PC selection will be fine ... Grand Theft Auto V 4K System Requirements
Jus' thought I bold that, Hilly.

The consoles are ported from the original PC build and downsampled graphically to the development platforms for the various consoles. This is standard when using dev kits and your own game engine (which includes the graphics engine, network, AI etc etc etc). Rockstar (in addition) also used middleware from so many different sources to make the game world work and basically, load. I recall the days from Vice city where I'd be driving along and crash into a piece of scenery that loaded visually, 5 microseconds before I hit it. This appears to have been practically removed from GTA5. I think it's really moved forwards considerably over the years, but, back on topic. I think it's great a games company is openly talking about UltraHD and giving people the information they need to run a game at this rez.

Any words on DX 12 support later?
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/209/209401.jpg
That would be interesting if they add dx12 later on. they might. its a long shot. but maybe sense they could be adding any updates and dlc that gets added later on to the console version. it could help with draw distance.

If GTX660 is to be good enough for 60 fps at 1080p (even at minimal/poor quality settings) then it would be a nice improvement, taking into consideration how "old" GTA IV performs on present/modern hardware. When I saw 60 fps GTA V trailer, I thought that they used TITAN in 3-way SLI, and some system with double CPU, to make it 🙂 I keep my fingers crossed - maybe the game will work smooth on present hardware.

Im slightly sceptical about wether their performance estimations holds up or not - but it would indeed be very nice if its true 🙂

I wouldn't choose Max Payne 3 as a good result. A great number of people couldn't play this game for months. First it was the problem of logging into their great social platform and later graphics issues. Spent weeks talking to their support with no avail. In the end I downloaded pirated version which worked flawlessly. To this day I haven't played the original and the GTA V better be amazing otherwise they wont see a penny from my pocket

Wouldn't really call it an estimation 5 days from release, if it doesn't hold up that's a straight up lie.

Call it what you want, but developers give wrong "estimations" on like 9 out of 10 games :P

There is no way Gta V will run at 60 1080p with graphics card lower than gtx 780

Maybe on max graphics, 60 fps isn't that hard to reach. If my 670 can hit 50 odd on decent graphics for dying light at 1440 I don't see GTA being much of an issue unless they pulled a rockstar on the optimization.
