So yeah, we're at it again, giving away once premium content (paid DLC) for free a few months after. EA, your business plans suck, you're crapping on your customers. Thankfully I'm finally cured off my Battlefield syndrome and can now happily say I'm not interested anymore, so even the last of EA's offerings is no longer of any meaning to me.

omw dude. why do people always like to complain. All gamers do these days is complain, complain, complain. I think it's a good thing that they giving it away for free. Yes I don't have premium and that's not the reason. for me having to unlock all the guns and so on now will be a pain in the ass due to almost no one playing it.

You completely missed the point.

I have a right to complain. I bought and played every Battlefield game on the PC, which have been 6 games and an accumulated 500$ or more with all the expansions packs, and since they introduced premium passes, I paid that too. I spent enough money on that franchise and games to have a right to complain, probably more than you do to be honest. You yourself complain about "unlockable weapons" because there's nobody playing, which mostly is because you're late to the party, sorry. So much for complaining and people doing it.... check yourself. But I don't want to bash you, so here's my thoughts on the subject: The point is, you buy the game on release day (which you obviously don't or you'd have the weapons unlocked already), then you pay again for the expansion set, it costs money again. EA takes the money, and later throws the content around to get people to buy the game again, screwing over EVERY customer that paid for it, regardless of buying it extra or with the premium pass. You get something for free others paid for, that's not exactly fair, or better phrased, customer friendly. This isn't even some GOTY edition, you just get it for free. They did this with BF4 already, and now again, and twice tricked, it's shame on me already. If I don't stop feeding their shady politics when it comes to Battlefield and it's expansion pack policy (that screws over people with calculation) among other things, I would indeed have myself to blame for being screwed over for a third time. But this ain't happening, exact same reason I quit COD because it's a mindless milking of a cash cow and how every other game is a reskin of COD of some years ago. If you yet don't understand why I complain, I guess it can't be helped. Maybe you understand my point of view now.

Oh that reminds me, I got BF1 Ultimate when it was on sale a few mths back....haven't even installed it to play yet.

First you make a mistake of pre-ordering or buying right after release incomplete game and now you complain, that's funny. I'm always waiting until complete edition of any game is released and then i buy it, discounted, fixed of most bugs and working better because drivers are also optimized. It's not EA or any other publisher crapping you but it is yourself with your not the smartest purchase decisions.

Same thing happened by BF4, I bought only BF4 and in the end got all premiums too. Guess most should have learned it by now. :P 🙂 BF3 was the only one that made success, and they thought, ok lets do it again and again.

You honestly make no sense, it's software houses that need to change, not us consumers, or at least not in the way you talk about.

Thanks for the letting us know about the free DLC , since buying Bf1 on release day ive only played 25hrs ,for some reason i just couldn't really get into the game , Bf3 was the best for me and bf4 was ok too.

They could at least give us PAYING customers some loot or something. NO NO lets reward the none paying customers, makes huge sense. I'm out, no more investing in the BF franchise for me.

Yes, you really seem to not get it. By saying I don't comply with their politics I am also admitting that I made a mistake by bying premium. I go even further and say I made a mistake by playing Battlefield with such a crappy policy of EA behind it. Which is something you still seem to support by bying their products, something that's done for me. You say it's the smartest purchase decision? Then don't complain about nobody playing it at the end of it's life like you did whining you couldn't unlock the weapons. You really are delusional complaining about other people complaining and complaining yourself about bying the game at the end of it's lifetime when the next Battlefield game is already around the corner. It's been always like that too, but I'm not sure you'd know, have you played any Battlefield games before BF1? Maybe Hardline? On console? With a controller? Seriously, let it be, you started whining about my post and do just the same. People I don't even know see it too. And people agree with my opinion too. So...

Also happened back with Battlefield 2 when EA released v1.50 and the $10 booster packs for free (Euro Forces & Armored Fury) but you didn't see us complain back then.

Okay, here's a few points where that situation was different: They gave away those expansions 4 years after the game's release. 4 years. Not one or two. There was no premium service that sold you every expansion beforehand (yes again, stupid choice by me, but I'm cured), so people who were screwed over didn't miss out on that much free money like EA makes them now. Expansions were 10$, not 15$ like they are now. Just to add, we all know EA is not really the most customer friendly publisher of games and always is out to grab the money of people, so to reward the non paying customer is just a slap in the face for everybody that did pay. Like @Reddoguk said, if they gave the others some useless cosmetical lootboxes, it'd be a sign of "appreciation", this way they're just saying that the newer customer is their favoured one, not the ones that paid the money for them already, favouring those who bought the discounted game instead of those who bought the game at launch + premium, for instance.

We all know EA has a bad business practice, I don't have premium but I'm grateful that they are giving away the dlc's. I bought BF1 because I like the game, and are aware of EA's business practices to take precautions on spending my money. It just means that the DLC servers will be filled and the game will be ever so slightly lively again. No point in complaining, once you have given them your money, you ain't getting it back sadly, but on the upside at least you gave some support to the developers. No one will really care if you stop playing the game, your money is theirs now an the non-premium user's are getting what they want. Lesson to be learned, think smart when buying products from EA or anyone in general.

Oh well have fun playing the game again if you rejoined, and I hope you feel good about giving EA your money to support their doings. Because buying their games still means you support them. Dice doesn't really deserve my support either, they've literally sold out.

Btw Doom did the same.. Got a bit pissed about it back then, i bought season pass full price, just to find out later they gave it to all with 6.66 update. No wonder it was about to fail, just like anything after BF4. And it is still a bit dead now (Doom). As a thankyou note, All we got was 2 badges, that's it -_-. I know for sure I won't buy another premium pass in the near future.
