Using Google Drive for a while now, seems like an interesting addition. So lets see 🙂

Intelligence agencies are going to love this.

Entire PC backup? 1 TB?
My desktop PC has 8 TB and my HTPC capacity is some TB north 30.
It will be less expensive to FEDEX all my harddisks to the NSA directly from my country! 😀

I would not like to try and backup my PC with my 1 meg upload speed. lol

Isn't that what second hardrives are for?

Ill stick to Acronis True Image, which runs every friday.
Auto backs up to an internal 2,5" 1TB HDD, and every 2-3 weeks i manually drop those on a 1TB USB 3.0 HDD 🙂
Exascale
First thing that comes to mind is the intelligence agencies scanning it all.

All the people concerned about the private data:
A) nobody cares about your data
B) When they do care about you, they already have all the data in any case regardless of your system (looking at your tinfoil win7 users)
C) As long as you don't do anything over the edge, they won't care
Yup.

If they don't care... ask yourself one question.
Why do they try so hard to get our data?

Id rather have an NAS as my backup device vs the cloud because if the sever goes down then you have no access to your data. With an NAS if one harddrive fails then all you do is replace the harddrive.

haha, the the congress just passed new laws to allow more of our info to be shared.

Why to pay when FreeFileSync exists?
Clients available for Windwos / MacOS / Linux and using FireFox and Thunderbird entire system can be synced more or less seamlessly. Of course to sync to mobile mounting these driver is required and process is done from desktop OS.
Cheaper and safer alternative then relying on corporate giant that do what governments tells them to do (via "law" of course).

Yeah...Let's not turn this into a conspiracy thread...
I already use Google Drive to backup pictures and files at work, but we're also on a paid subscription with Google so files are a little bit more protected at least!
