Amazon uses Silverlight for video ******ing in IE. Microsoft's own website also uses Silverlight.

If it happens I'll go back to Firefox or maybe even IE, its gotten nice.

I was using firefox for a long time. I tried Google Chrome out, it is fast, and has a lot of great features; However I noticed it is a resource hog, but maybe that's why it is so fast.
IE10 is much faster than firefox 24, the latest build.
I also discovered that IE 10 has a pretty good reputation so far of blocking malware and being more secure. This made me switch back to IE 10.
Anyone who has used all 3 browsers, feel free to share your input, I am still trying to figure out the benefit to each one, in my opinion this is how I think it is:
Google Chrome - Fastest, and features virtualization anti-malware features.
IE10 - According to NSSlabs, IE10 is the most secure browser;

I've got all 3 installed, Firefox I just use for cashback purchases (need to wipe everything each time), I've always found Firefox significantly slower than ie all the way from v3. Chrome is alright but I don't find the ui intuitive.
IE10 with some decent TPL's to kill ads is my preference by far. On mobile platforms I use opera classic though.

Perhaps Microsoft will find a way to emulate Sivlerlight with HTML5, as I doubt Google would want to add native Silverlight support as they did with Flash.

I use all three,
Chrome for daily browsing, general email usage, videos.
IE10 for work email account and some older sites that seem to still screw up in Chrome (also to config some older network printers/routers/switches). Also for the occasional ActiveX plugin required for something.
FF as a sandbox, backup browser, since IE10 (W8) uses its own flash player and Chrome does too, some flash games or sites have an issue from time to time. Pretty much only used with NoScript + AdBlock + auto wipe.
Chrome is fast, but uses a ton of memory, also individual tabs may crash/lag if you open too many (rarely).
IE10 sometimes is exceedingly slow and stupid (takes much longer than Chrome to start, or it could just be W8). It often lags on more script/flash/etc intensive websites. Otherwise, its fine and like 9, is an acceptable browser.
FF isn't too bad, its actually fairly fast to start now and is relatively stable. The only issue I have with it is that my FF somehow doesn't really like to update itself unless I go check its version.
So basically, all three are fine, almost equal, there is really no reason to recommend one over the other unless you have a specific usage case where one fails or lacks in (customization).
As for the drop of an old standard, it would be nice, I personally don't use any plugins other than Flash/PDF on Chrome so I shouldn't be affected, but if it boosts stability/speed and security in the long run, I'm in for it.
On mobile, I use Chrome for sync, and when I don't want it I use the new Opera. I also keep the old Opera around as a backup in case Webkit decides to not play well with certain sites.
